I’m trying to install new exhaust and downpipe. I cannot get the car high enough to get it on stands and give me any room to work. Jack maxes out and I’m squeezing the stands under the car. No way I will fit. Even tried with a block on the jack pad.

Yeah I think I’ll be jack shopping today for one with longer reach and higher rise.

Quickjacks. Worth their weight in gold. Well that’s an exaggeration but they are awesome and have paid for themselves many times over the last 4 years I’ve been using them.
Suggestion: get the 7000 model even though the 5000 will work for the Supra. That way (if you also pick up the truck extensions) you can use them on pretty much any vehicle you’ll ever have.

Installation postponed for today. I’ll make a jack purchase and do it in a few weeks. Have springs coming soon so I’ll just use another weekend. Disappointing but it is what is for today.
Thanks all.

Harbor freight super low / super long jack works for me. Front up, put jack stands. Jack the rear, put stands. I also have some low profile ramps since I'm lowered on Whiteline.

this is also a great How To.

I usually drive up my RaceRamps (front), and then raise the rear using my hydraulic to place jackstands on the rear. (front on ramps, rear on jack stands).

I also have SafeJack's which can support the car at the jack points while still using my hydraulic jack to raise the car at the same jack point. Nifty unit.

That said, I have a creeper that collects dust.. my pumpkin head is too big so just use those card board discs from TireRack to slide on. Works fine for me..

Not a Corvette.
Quickjacks are by far the best tool I have bought for my garage.

I was SUPER bummed when I found out the 5000 series I bought for the Supra doesn't work on my 330i. Way too short. Instead of buying the longer quickjacks, I bought the slight extensions they offer and now I can use the quickjacks sideways with the 330i. Only bummer is it blocks doing a trans fluid change.

I love the idea of QuickJacks but tbh they are more than what I think I need. Had I invested in a set a few years ago I certainly would have gotten my money's worth, but I'm only getting older, and my desire to spend time on my back under the car is waning.

I can handle this exhaust/downpipe install... just needed to get the car up a bit higher. I think I'm good now.
