I am having issues with engine oil temps getting high after going WOT. During a single WOT pull <10 sec, temp goes from 232-252f.

Driving around town, no issues with engine oil temp.

Any ideas where to look?

Only thing I notice is this coolant reservoir is a little low (which I plan to add coolant to). The other one is full.

See picture attached.

Yea wow it def shouldn't increase that much during one pull. Can you log coolant temp too?

Is the res empty or just slightly below the max line?

It's more towards empty for the most part.

I had a reply in mind but it's related to coolant temps not oil temps. But I can't delete my reply so I guess I'll suggest filling the coolant and trying again.

There's a bleed procedure to run as well. Not sure the Supra steps but in BMW land it's a couple of things turned on, then you set the heat to 84 (max), fan on and set low, then hold the gas pedal ~ 10 seconds until you hear a low whining sound of the electric pump running.

Good idea on checking the coolant level, hopefully it's that simple. I think the sensor is in the side of the block under the intake on a B58 (don't quote me on that). Maybe there's an air pocket in the cooling system that passes nearby and spikes the temp for a bit,

Are you running the stock oil? That won’t help. Mine was getting to 295 on track two weekends last year. Switched out to Motul 8100 Gen 2 5W40 and the next track weekend I saw peaks of 255 after sustained WOT at a fast track. The OEM oil is only there for fuel efficiency. You might not find the oil weight in your manual (a Toyota thing) but it is in the equivalent manuals of the BMW cars that use this engine.

I have blackstone reports too just to make sure I wasn’t going nuts.

While I agree about the crap OEM oil, it 100% should not be gaining that much temp in just one WOT pull.

I’ll check my in track logs in a minute to see what I see on the first straight.

My personal supra with 600whp+, 28psi to redline, on track down the straight to 130mph+

This was also after five laps.

Coolant temp is directly related with oil temps, which is why I asked him to log coolant as well. I bet there is air in the system and/or coolant is low.
