What did you do to your Supra today?

Hi friends, just powder coated a set of stock wheels in prismatic powders alien silver. I wanted to originally strip and polish my wheels or chrome plate them, but ultimately went with powder coat because it’s less maintenance. Looks very silvery in the daylight but almost white in lowlight. Hopefully someone can use this as a reference one day!

That looks fantastic ? - I’d remove the Z (space) 4 - but that’s me. To each his own, good being unique as well.

Having a lot of neg camber is deceiving. I love the look of mine.

However you gotta be careful if you’ve got your car setup properly for tracking, like he does. It’s best to add spacers before setting up your car. 5-10mm spacer are less likely to cause any issues (I’ve got 10mm all around). Potentially they can increase grip, stability with a wider stance & lower the car’s roll center (body roll), giving you higher cornering speed.

But…. since he’s been tracking for a while, he’s likely got his suspension dialed in & McLovin ? it ?.

If he was to add 15mm or > spacers after being setup for track, he‘d increase the scrub radius, giving the car a heavier, less precise, steering feel. They also soften the response of the springs & dampers, which increases the body roll, giving it a softer feel while cornering, increase leverage, which increases stress on the components (wheel bearing, hubs, suspension components), which can cause handling imbalances, such as reduce grip up front (altering camber gain during compression), in the rear they can increase grip which reduces oversteer.

So yes for looks & daily driving. But a big no if you’re already setup for track and don’t want the headache to set her up again & added stress on the components.

Edit: damn that response was way too long for they can enhance looks but mess up the setup on track cars ??‍ ?

Typically I don't envy people that live in Florida, but I do when you can do events like that in the dead of winter.

I looked at it today. Hadn’t seen it since the first week of December because of the cold and snow. Took advantage of the 60 degree temps today to check the mouse traps and remember what the car looked like. No mice and still looks as badass as I remembered.

you know me. I’m just starting to get seat time but all along I’ve done a lot to the car.

I changed my wheels, tires, springs, lowered the car, added front sway bar, and a lot of aero and the car was aligned, 4 corner balanced and dialed on the lowest setting on an after market sway bar. (I trust these people they are a good racing team). The car feels great as is on the track (that’s the set up you drove)… but obviously I’m very far from the limit.

I recently added spacers to that setup 10mm front and 13mm rear.

Looks better, and I take the car out for a 10 mile drive every other week or so. Is not my daily. but since the car was *dialed* without them, I have no issues in taking those out when my next track day arrives.

I run wheels with different offsets, spacers, no spacers, different tire radius all throughout a season.

Alignments are also done via the center points. If wheels and tires and such change alignments enough to matter, no pro teams would use hub stands to do their alignments.

You have nothing to sweat over.
