Alright I have it fixed. Inspected a couple more panels and eventually found the door is not the primary issue, the hood is. It’s the classic misaligned hood discussed in many other threads. It was installed way too much to the passenger side, so the driver side panel gap between hood and door was out of spec. Surprisingly the issue was carried from the first production year to the last, Toyota/BMW never try to address it.

Fix was simple, loose the nuts in the rear end of the hood, two on each side and one side at a time. Push the hood to the driver side a bit after loosing the nuts, then tighten the two nuts. Repeat on the other side. Close the hood, check the panel gap and repeat the process if needed. Torque is 19NM according to ISTA. The paintwork was done after the hood is mounted, so you will be chipping the paint on the nuts. I’ll touch up later, but should be fine leaving it there.

Once the hood is aligned right, the bumper alignment will be screwed because they installed the bumper last to fit the misaligned hood. Just need to loose 6 larger screws holds the center piece, and 4 small screws, 2 on each side to hold the part above reflector. Larger screws should be torqued at 5NM and small ones at 2.5NM. When I unscrew the 6 larger ones in the center, the bumper pops out a bit right the way. They seem pushed it really hard so it fits the misaligned hood. SMH

The door gap in the rear was fixed by adjusting the striker, torque spec is 21NM. It’s a very common issue on almost all BMWs so the instruction is everywhere.

Ever look at a new Ferrari?

You’ll forget it all once you drive her on track. That’ll fix most of your problems ?

These suprecar manufacturers are in a whole different world. I know the older Ferraris have paint on the buttons that become sticky and peel off very quickly, and the HMI is literally garbage on newer cars like Roman. Meanwhile all MacLarens can technically be lemoned In US…

May go for a Porsche next time. Really heard any assembly issues for Porsche and highend VAG products. BMWs? All the time. I own two, I found two.

I just think for the money, this car is incredible. I may be a bit biased however ?

Not a Corvette.
"This car is a piece of crap"

"My other car is a piece of crap"

"I'm going to buy a VAG product, they are way better!" (this one made me laugh the most)

Meanwhile, also bought two said pieces of crap and signed up for a forum about them.

You should buy a Tesla and have fun with those gaps.

typical logical fallacies.

Hasty generalization:

"This car is a piece of crap"

"My other car is a piece of crap"

Slippery slope:

"I'm going to buy a VAG product, they are way better!"

I would recommend you to go college and get some basic education.

Yeah for 600k there’s really nothing can beat it. Could easily be 100K If this is a Lexus product with better interior and build quality. The value proposition is incredible in 2025.
