I love reading your stories. ???

agree. DO NOT WRAP A CF BODY!
Where do we sign the petition????

i guess renting an entire track is what rich rich people do????

Back to topic:

I will get the license and the laptop. If I succeed on shutting down the Christmas tree and you meet us there we can code them out then.

??????
CF, 21st century chrome in a lot of cases. Quietly knowing it's there and being low key about it is the way for me, not making it an in your face feature.

Replaced my pads and rotors. My hawk DTC60s were overheating and I kept losing brake feel. When I removed the pads they had very little life left and were cracking.

Replaced the pads with Carbotech XP12s hoping that they will work better for the long hot sessions I will do in summer

Also found GiroDiscs at FCP so jumped on them.

Lifetime replacement, nice! Probably lighter than my cheapo RockAuto.com ones too. Hope they do the trick for ya. Do they make them non slotted?

I found after using slotted and/or drilled rotors Iā€˜d go thru pads much quicker and didn’t stop any better. So I up’ed the pad compound to project mu 999 and/or CSG (CE2 or C21) and added brake ducts.

This last weekend the CSGs were doing really well but I ran out of track time to really comparatively test them against the P mu999s.

I'm still newish to tracking, less than 1 year though I have 17 track days already. Did spend several 110+ track days at thunderhill so I think I'll need cooling to make sure I do stop while I still learn to not overbrake.

The girodiscs I don't believe are made non-slotted. FCP also has regular rotors, the rears I got were these https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-brake-disc-zimmermann-34216860925

Realized I didn't share the link for those who would also want to jump in on this "deal" https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-disc-brake-rotor-set-girodisc-a1-307

I'm making it a point to try to get as much as I can from FCP for the lifetime replacement aspect. Although, it's only worth it if you have access to very cheap shipping.

Finally got new front rotors. Decided to go the affordable way because… well, is affordable and have been advised against bad quality big, drilled, or slotted rotors.

(Two brake shop guys tested my car and told me that my OEM rotors were warped. Not sure how I did that)

Got them Bedded in, will bed in some more tonight when both other cars and cops are not around watching me doing what otherwise looks like crazy stuff.

ā€œMom, I think this guy in the Supra is trying to race our mini van. He keeps on getting on and off the gas like a maniac trying to intimidate usā€.

Finally got my wheels powder coated and mounted. Installing MSS Springs probably next weekend. Barrel/Lip is Brushed Bronze, face is Matte Golden Bronze.

Going with a 90's Black Panther comic book theme lol.

I got my DME back from Femto today and after I plugged her back in and started the car, she coughed and spluttered before flat out refusing to start! After a brief moment of panic, I decided to unplug the battery and carefully re-seat the DME connectors. She then started up with a roar. I took her for a quick test drive and was all good. #thankfuck.

I didn't have any issues, but I have heard of some folks doing just this. Didn't seat the connectors all the way. I know I would have shit my pants, if this happened to me. Right there in the driveway. With the neighbors watering their grass. In broad daylight.

Those DME connectors are a pain in the dick. Who designs a connector with a positive lock that can click when it's not locked? Oi.

Today about high noon I went out to get some Sumatra coffee. When I left the establishment, from a complete stop, I went to pull into traffic and it felt like the car wanted to break traction maybe because I was turned… And then all of a sudden the car went into limp mode… Immediately pulled over because there’s no throttle it felt like it was coughing and sputtering… shut the car off, restarted, and it drove normal again. Any thoughts?
