I found some articles spouting the same shit but again, zero evidence presented. If anything most of it is whinging that our fuel is "dirty" from an environmental standpoint, not low octane. ?‍

Sure but that's literally a single data point. All I'm saying is that other than personal anecdotes, no actual evidence has been provided. A cursory Google search provides similar results, with other people Including "journalists" openly whinging.. and I'll say it again, without a shred of empirical evidence. ?‍

Technically 98 RON is equivalent to 93-94 octane. However, I believe what @Darkseid69 is saying is that the 98 RON, specifically in Australia, is actually more like 91 oct. Just like 91 octane in Arizona, California and Nevada here in the states is much worse than 91 oct in the rest of the United States.

If you Aussies would stop making your gasoline out of salt water crocs, maybe it would be better.

I'm sure i could post SAE or ASME articles (or hell, even a copy of the Heywood textbook) but would you even read them? For fun, here's a one-slider for you to consider. Find where ethanol is (hint, look at the carbon structures), and compare it to iso-octane straight 100 octane. (if you took combustion in college, recall that iso-octane has identical MON/RON ratings)

So tried to offset it by removing some.

Roll bar came in ~46lbs so total weight added ~6.6lbs.

Your screenshots don't actually address my claim that AUSTRALIAN 98 PETROL IS RUBBISH AND NOT 98RON/93 OCTANE.

If you read my comments again, you'll see that I'm not debating the increased power Ethanol can provide modern cars or it's lower burn temperature.. I just personally don't like using it for a variety of other well known reasons: Availability; reduced fuel economy; moisture storage issues and increased wear/oil use.

In hindsight, I think maybe you just misread my comments.

Yeah ?.

The 2 front kickers (bars) that attach to the main hoop use the existing 4 bolt holes on each side and actually hold the main hoop by themselves.

Structurally it may not be ideal, but figured if I ever get more serious about racing I’d go the weld-in route.

I’d be worried about leaving it sit too long in the tank and moisture issues as well. Happened too me with a pair of jetskis. Granted my fault for letting it sit around too long unused thinking I’ll be going out “next weekend” & not using Sta-bil. Major pain in the arse after the fact!
FF a few years later, a guy helping me store my track car, told me to specifically go to a gas station that sold non ethanol gas and only get that. I didn’t even know they sold such a thing, lol. Live & learn (expensively in my case ?).
