There's nothing inherently wrong although, it makes it harder to install cause the holes have to be exact. With bolts there's a but more forgiveness if you have to ovalize a hole. That and I wanted to use washers to help distribute load. But yeah rivets work fine!

Need to have a louvered option that operates hydraulically with heat/speed. That way it can stay closed up when not driving.

Edit: or designed where it can be opened for track or shut for normal driving.

Umm, while that would be cool in theory I really dont see the benefit.

There would be no way to seal it from water and such if thats what you're worried about. If thats the case just use the engine cover during normal driving. It just runs off the sides. That's what ive done for over a year now.

If you're worried about fuel economy, the change would be negligible at best.

I wonder if on the underside of the hood could someone affix a rain tray to the bottom of the vent to direct water to drain towards the front of the car away from the motor? I had a s550 mustang previously with a gt500 replica hood that had that, a rain guard. Seemed like a good idea. For someone who’s never going to track their car, I just like the vent for style haha!

So, how many of you fellas and gals and such do these mods strictly for looks, and how many have actual cooling issues that need this solution?

I mean, I did mine mostly for looks. I'm running less than half the power of most guys in my area with no hood vents, so yeah, it's overkill.

Mine's usually garaged, especially at night, but I don't park mine outside long enough for critters to "squatter" in my engine bay, but you can also get one of those black grill inserts like the ones that come in vented carbon hoods.

Mine (and my redesign) was done purely for function and cause I hated how small the verus one is.

Not to mention you benefit in more ways than just cooling, it will also generate more front downforce. Especially if a wicker is added at the leading edge. Seeing as the only effective cooling modification you can do to our cars short of an intake manifold is a catless downpipe or replacing an aux rad with an oil cooler (if you make enough power to warrant it), id say it does a pretty good job.

No it warps. It's kinda garbage. I think they stopped caring about the platform too. Haven't heard anything from them in awhile.
