Not a Corvette.
I'm specifically referring to the the Motec PnP kit for the Supra. You can see more details here:
https://theshophouston.com/product/...otec-m130-plug-play-kit-for-toyota-mkv-supra/

"This kit is designed to run as a piggy back system alongside your stock ECU."

Powertune in australia also has something in the works, unsure if it's piggy back style or if you swap your ECU with it and use your existing harness but I'm assuming the later.

Yea, i've seen that, seems like a waste of a Motec to use it like a Motive Reflex/Rev2 to just drive ancillary items. That also means you would need to tune the actual OEM DME for operating the actual engine.

Ahh I see. Thx for the input, was curious - wasn't sure what was and wasn't handled by the DME. The description is pretty scarce.

You can ask them to do the data comm recall if you haven't had it yet. That would update it to OEM spec and lock it again.

BTW why do you need smog in California? Isn’t it too early for that?
Who do I ask?

I’m registering an out of state salvage i need smog for it

That is not true. I flash mine to stock (no customrom) at least every year for inspection.
mine wasn’t able to start with the stock tune, unless it was custom rom. but still wasn’t able to pass emissions.

To be honest, its seems like you need to stop into the Toyota dealership and talk to the service manager.

Explain to them that its a rebuilt car that has aftermarket software on the ECU and that you need to make sure that it the ECU is updated to the latest version of software before you can register the car.

You would like to have the ECU updated to the latest valid version, and overwrite what is on the car.

They will probably need to keep the car, as they have to download a huge 10GB file in order to perform the update.

Many of these dealerships do not see Supras and might not be dealing with any type of aftermarket software on top of that.

Be cool and patient and they will be happy to help you.
