Hi everyone, got my Supra in May and finished break-in and was wondering if I should utilize the Toyota Care to get the oil change post-break in or should I just do it myself? If anyone has recommendations for which dealer to go to that would be helpful!

I did the oil change myself, but had to take my car to Fox Lake Toyota to do the break booster/DME recall.....

Toyota dealerships do not know what to do with these cars - its not a knock against any mechanic, but these cars are such outliers to the Toyota line up and require a totally different way of doing things.

If you can, I would suggest you do the oil change at home - I didn't even take mine in even though it was free.

@zrk could also hook you up with the FB Messenger group for Chicago Supras if you want a shop recommendation.

I hear Naperville Toyota is really good for Supras, and you should ask for Jake Deering. I'm not sure if he's still there, but he's very knowledgeable about the Supra. It's a bit too far for me to go for oil changes, but if you're closer, that would be my go-to.

I would just DIY it. It's super easy and you're free to pick the oil you want. Plus the dealers will just dump in 0W-20, and I wouldn't use an oil viscosity that is practically water on my car.

This. Basically if any of the area Supra people go in to a dealer for service, it's done through Jake at Naperville.

I've gone to Naperville many time for service on my 2020 Supra, and they always do a great job. They also have loaners available if you need to have more than the oil change done.

Its been awhile since I've been there but the service team was great to deal with when i went in for the free 10K mile inspection. Customer lounge was pretty nice too with all that free coffee and beverages.

I go to Schaumburg Toyota as Naperville Jake Deering is too far for me. They have a dedicated Supra service advisor Steve Krueger. I use them for LOF and warranty work, but if I need other things (like brake, rotors, etc.) I go to the WerkShop on 176 in Libertyville, they are BMW specialists.

Thanks for that! I was also looking at URW Automotive in Crystal Lake and Boostin Performance in Hoffman Estates to do any aftermarket work for me if needed. Good to know there is one even closer as I am in Northern Lake County.

I've been to looking for a reliable shop. Was wondering if you (or anyone on the forums) have heard of PerformanceEuroWerks in Elk Grove.

Boostin Performance in Hoffman Estates.
Be careful when leaving Boostin Performance’s plaza. That slope and transition onto the street is horrendous lol. Scraped the shit out of my fender and undercarriage.

Oh I noticed that for sure - I went there in my Sienna to pick up some axles and a driveshaft and was like "how do customers get in/out of here without an issue?"

There's also PhD Racing in Hoffman, and EP3 motorsports in St. Charles.
