I’ve got a 2022 Supra A91-CF, bone stock with the OEM duckbill, etc. Thinking about swapping to a Street Hunter spoiler and maybe adding a carbon fiber hood/roof.

I want to keep resale value high. I’d save all OEM parts, but will mods like these still turn off buyers or drop the price? Should I keep it stock, do light reversible cosmetic mods, or go mild performance?

Aftermarket mods bring value down.

You should do what you want, keep it stock or mod it. All up to you.

FYI if resale value is important to you then you should know that every mile you drive the value goes down. :confused1:

A good rule of thumb is to assume that the overwhelming majority of mods don't add value to the car. Many even reduce the value. But imo it's wrong to assume that all "aftermarket mods bring value down" of a car like this, especially smaller more popular mods like spoilers, lips etc... Car's not going to have lower resale value because of a street hunter wing.

For resale stock is pretty much always better. The majority of aftermarket stuff is not at OEM quality in fit and function and the buyer also has the benefit of knowing some knuckle dragger in a butchers apron hasn't been let loose on the thing which could cause them future problems.

Can't agree with that.

Drilling through the trunk deck and plastic housing most definitely brings down resale value for resellers and some buyers. Gotta find a buyer who actually wanted the wing.

But true, simple mods like a lip wing or some stick on carbon fiber won’t bring it down but not all buyers have the same taste.

Well RIP, seems like i'm on my own with that opinion. I still think simple mods don't decrease the resale value of cars like these. On (even slightly) rarer and/or older cars, sure.

BIG wings increase your odds of a crash (search totaled Supras on the forum). Maybe it’s just a ‘go fast’ look add on for a street car. I personally think they are rice but we all have our opinions. Mods can be tasteful but drilling holes in the rear hatch wouldn’t be preferred to most future buyers. Perhaps stick with reversible mods if you’re worried about future value. Finished with my rant. 🤪

The Supra tends to hold its value pretty well regardless of mods, assuming you're only doing light modding / popular mods and keep the stock parts to give with the car. There's a reason you can't get 3.0's under $50K unless they're high mileage or been in a wreck.

That being said, you'll always face depreciation with this car no matter what you do, so I'd just focus on enjoying it now. If you drop its value by $10K by time you wanna sell it, chances are the fun you had with it was worth it versus keeping it in a garage 99% of its life and keeping it bone stock when mods are on your mind in the first place.

Big wings are rice? I learn something new on this forum everyday.

To me, a SH wing means the owner must thrash the car. Gotta bounce off that limiter a few times to let pedestrians know what’s up. Likely has TE37s or replicas and some eBay side skirts. Has a gaping hole on the right side bc he’s running a single exit exhaust to receive validation from bros at car meets. Definitely has some electrical tape over the CEL. Also gets extra tapioca pearls in his boba drinks cuz he enjoys the feeling of the balls hitting the back of his throat.

Nahh I’m just playing. I think the SH wing is ok. Biggest factor is who you can sell the car to. Nothing about this type of sports car is really financially savvy so just enjoy it.
