Brake pad recommendations?

Guys can you spoon feed me direct links? I want something but have zero desire to put any effort into figuring out how to get it.

you asked about where had pmu pads in stock.

I told you Japanese retailers because this is a Japanese company and nobody keeps these in stock in the US.

I even DM’d you that rhd, Blackhawk, and nengun are all good to order from.

Now wtf are you complaining about?

Order a different compound or a different pad if they don’t have the mediocre one you want.

I should have clarified that it was the Project Mu Club Racer pad specifically I was looking for, so that's on me. But yes looking for that specific pad, I'm unable to find them at any of the Japanese retailers you suggested, not for lack of trying.

If that's a mediocre compound and you have a suggestion for a better one, why not just say that? From everything I've seen on this forum when folks are discussing Project Mu's, it's the Club Racer pad specifically they're talking about...

If you want to save the money on a really expensive comparison test… I finally bit the bullet and paid the small house mortgage (almost 1 grand - $900 something) to try the most expensive Supra brake pad on the planet ? The CSG CE2 endurance racing pad. They are rarely in stock. So I figured for that kinda price tag & while available, I’d never know unless I gave them a try. In hindsight, I should have bought the cheaper (only $650 I believe) CSG C21 sprint pads for a better comparison.

The skinny last minute review - the endurance CSGs felt solid & had a very smooth bite but… I‘d had to overshoot my favorite hairpin & other apexes. Thus forced to brake sooner, compared to the 999s. My average lap time went down by ~2 seconds. Unless changing driving style - threshold braking longer & harder - which led to scrubbing my tires & forced me to back down and settle for the slower tire saving times. Another plus for the 999s, they lasted way longer than anticipate. About 9 track days or 3 long weekends. Even while putting down better times - really hard (9-10 pedal) late braking. That was using the standard rust prone Geospec RockAuto.com vented rotors, not the “upgraded” cheese shredding slotted ones. My 2nd set of 999s didn’t agree with those (last as long or stop any better).

However, to be fair, the CSGs are still on my car after only one track day. So I can’t compare on how long they’ll last. But I already know I’ll settle for better stopping power and 3 track weekends (8-9 track days). Hence my new backup front pads are now the 999s. I’ll keep using Hawk DTC30s in the rear. Unless the P mu 999 rear pads turn out to not be too much to bite back there. Then I’ll just keep ordering the complete P mu 999 set from Japan. All thx to your Razor Lab ? recs of using this brand long long ago, probably on your build page or tracking section of the forum ?.

late but did some surfing for lug nuts, and they have the cheapest project kics i have found, also has really cheap cusco parts for our cars. They have plenty of project mu pads.

Ive bought from Blackhawkjapan a few times. They are legit and prices are great. Currently have Craftsquare mirrors on order from them and communication has been good. Their website kinda sux though.

Same, I've ordered from Blackhawk Japan and the shipping time was actually not that bad. About 10 days from ordering to doorstep.

Cheaper and faster than most US vendors.

I realize that web page pics could be wrong but the pics on both of those links are way different even though descriptions are for fronts. Assuming both are stock front?

Yes the Japanese Chassis code Supra DB42 in the description is what matches the 3.0 Premium fronts. Do note that there's a very good chance no shipments will be leaving Japan right now so be wary of placing an order. Japan post has stopped all shipping so EMS shipping will no longer be valid. DHL/Fedex might work but the change just went into effect and I haven't seen anyone say anything either way for private courier yet.

Unfortunately, the 999's cant be ordered anymore.
Another local and I tried earlier this summer, and Project Mu is discontinuing them.

Side note, another pad combo that we found works pretty well on track (for us at least) are the EBC RPX front pads with EBC Blue NDX rear pads.
