Random questions: brakes /suspension / sport mode

1. There is a programming option in ProTools to adjust the braking. What does it do exactly?

2. When adding the coilovers do I need the EDC delete kit or can it be done programmatically

3. Opinions about Sport+ mode are divided. Is something that really makes any difference?

1) there’s some brake coding that some have done to give it a more “natural” feeling. Personally I’ve never done it since I like the brake feeling I my setup (z4 might have different programming), but it essentially deactivates some coding in the DSC (disables brake pressure pre fill, brake fade compensation, dynamic brake control, etc).

2) there is some extended VO coding that you can do to disable EDC. I did it on mine for my MCS and works fine, minus a flex ray error. (This is a known part because of the VDC. No chassis codes dislayed on idrive.).

3) sport + is default in the z4. Just makes the throttle stupid sensitive. I use comfort settings for throttle on track.

Thanks. My car is a dedicated track car. So it seems that none of these things will improve over my setup which is

-Upgraded pads/lines/fluid
-I am adding coilovers and camber plates and I’m divided on whether to get the EDC delete kit
-I bimmerdcoded start on sport mode.

it’s a matter of having a different feeling not necessarily a performance gain; however, if the feeling inspires more confidence, then obviously it’s worth it. I don’t believe the coding adjusts any ABS intervention.

Honestly I don’t see a reason to delete with a kit unless if you plan on swapping out suspension often. The coding is free and offers the same result. Actually, i noticed more weight in the steering which was a welcomed change.

I drove my M240i home today after buying it in Sport+. I dunno why anyone wants this mode.

Flexray errors were fixed in my coding by people much more smart than I.
