Out of curiosity, I googled "bmw chassis function limited" and everything pointed to an issue with the adaptive suspension, either the wiring or a sensor. Was any of that stuff disconnected/reconnected during installation of your springs? I wonder if one of the connectors wasn't plugged back in properly.

I feel like a tire diameter mismatch would trigger ABS/VSC/TPMS errors (or limit driving dynamics) more than throwing a chassis error. Do you have a way to read the specific error code? That would narrow it down considerably.

Run the math on the diameter differences from stock and between front and rear (both stock and new). What is the % diameter difference?
unfortunately i donā€™t have a code reader in hand... but i could probably get my hands on one this weekend. it actually behaves like TC/VSC issues, as when youā€™re driving and hit the VSC off, it returns after a few seconds...

the stock front to back is 2.15%, the new one is 2.67%

Usually under 3% should be OK.

Following - We had this message with the install of the KW Suspension. We installed the KW Electonic dampening Cancelation kit and have had ZERO issues since - Wheels are coming soon, I would assume if you have the correct TPMS Sensor nothing would be an issue.

You're all missing the obvious. OP messed up the sidewall thickness. The front tires are a smaller radius than the rear. Front wheels turn faster, throws the computer off.

Sidewall numbers are NOT a set height. It's a percentage of the width. So a 265/30/20 is shorter than a 295/30/20.

In order to stay even the front tire should be a 265/35/20.

Then the computer will accept it because the wheel speeds are just about even.

update on this... so was able to read the code. seems like one of the front left sensors:

nothing seems disconnected, so I guess somehow damaged.

Did you install the cancellation kit?

We are planning to use
F275/30/20
R295/30/20

These are about 20mm Wider and .3 to .5 taller tire. We will see what happens.

I listed in a post about 20" tires sizes all the different heights -

Here is the information, I am not saying anything is correct or what to use but it was easy to put all the width and height measurements in one spot.

Hi Everyone,

We experienced this on our MKV's.

If you have different wheels and tires you can simply re calibrate through iDrive.
You will be able to select your new wheel size. Here you will see the option "Other".
Select "Other" and drive the car around per the instructions via iDrive till the car re-learns.

It will also re-learn tire pressure so make sure you have that corrected to your desired tire pressure as well.

Our MKV with the KW V3's and EDC kit had no issues at all.

Hope this helps as it did resolve the dash lights we had with our springs/ wheels and tires!
