Any post flash errors?
No issues, first attempt failed at 36% but I remember it doing that last time so I just pushed the flash again. Map switch and everything works as intended

Yeah, I looked into that. It looks like I can do it fairly easily but the US mirror seems to cost around six hundred squid. In my other car I just soldered a small wire between an after market remote and a small momentary switch; mounted it in the centre console, and for under $20 had a neat garage door button solution.

I just need to find a decent place to mount the switch and then run a wire to an easily accessible but hidden spot for the remote control.

I was looking at a better solution for the garage door too. Ended up getting dark coloured ebay remote and using double sided tape to mount it inside the hole/recess on the interior door, just below the handle. Being a black remote mounted in a hole made of black plastic it's completely invisible. When you do see it it looks OEM.

Yeah. I think I'm overthinking it. That's a simple solution which works. 😅

I once built a little voltage divider with small resistors so that I could convert the battery 12V to the 9V needed for a door opener. Then put it up high in the dash, and soldered wires I ran to the center console. Drilled a small hole and installed a button. It actually worked really well.

Overthinking it like that, you mean? If so, I get it.

We won't even talk about hardmounting a 2 piece radar detector in the steering column with fiberglass, bondo, and that wrinkle texture spray paint.

Haha.. Exactly this. I've even put a small connector along the wires so I can easily replace the battery - or replace the entire controller should I move or need a new controller. As it happens, I'm moving to a new place, so In my Type R, all I had to do was replace the controller and connect it to the existing button and wiring. Easy.

Below is an image of the initial wiring for the Supra garage door button. While it needs some tidying up (and a small enclosure to house the controller), it all works fine as is. I just need to find a suitable location for it and then drill, baby drill.

My stepson just got his learner's permit so I let him do some low speed driving in the local university parking lot. Focused on mirror placement and reversing first, then let him have at it for about fifteen minutes to practice lane placement and hand placement on the wheel while moving forward at low speeds. He tried to play it cool but I know he was shitting himself with excitement, as I would've been at his age.

I also made sure to send him a pic of himself in the driver's seat so he could flex a little on his friends.

Did an Angeles Crest run as a last hurrah for the ADVAN AD09's before I throw on new RZ's. Saw Jay Leno in his ZR1.
