What is a realistic power output for a pure800 and PI? Is 750whp possible? Safely? Reliabil

Hello again,

I am asking regarding what should my expectations be when completing my pure800 build. I found a pure800 at a good price and after watching CES’s video regarding tuning with it I feel like it is very close to the power level I am looking for.

I was shooting for 700-800whp, ideally landing in the middle. I have easy access to E so that’s why I am open to building it out. I have spent a lot of time reading the forums here alongside the Routes to Big Power since that was the inspiration for starting my build.

I saw that CES’s landed on 717 I believe and that is a little shorter than what I am shooting for but not far off. Is that a realistic goal to extract from the Pure 800 with PI?

I have been slowly attaining parts and have continued to research parts as I am currently looking into my intake manifold, in another thread, but I was wondering if the turbo can push me there.

I have also read that the stock internals can make it to about 800hp without too much fear and that’s why I am shooting for this power level, alongside being able to match/beat a model S plaid in a 60-130 run.

I do also want to maintain some level of reliability since I do know I can push it to the limit and just wait till it pops, I prefer NOT to do that. I just want to be able to meet/beat that goal when necessary and the rest of the time just enjoy occasional pulls and driving since I am not too harsh with my cars regardless and live in a pretty stable climate, where 75 degree days and no humidity is standard.

I might ambitious with my goals but since I have begun, I want to build it right to achieve my goal. I am open to hearing about power levels of the pure 800 alongside any advice relating to my power goal.
Pretty sure there is a 2 port P900 now or at least very soon.

I posted in another thread yesterday about it but on a dyno I'm making 747whp and 908nm (at 4350rpm) on mainline hub.

My setup is 6 port P900, do88 manifold (mera), port injection / reflex with 2 LPFP in fuel tank that feeds my surge tank and brushless in surge that primes, Upgraded PTB Clutch + DMF fly wheel as I'm manual, and other obvious mods like downpipe, catch can etc.

In terms of engine longevity, that really comes down to where you are making your power and shaping your torque. I'd also recommend sorting out PCV issues with block off pins if you don't want to tear your PCV diaphragm apart. Also depends on how you treat your car, if you are doing back to back pulls every day without being careful of temps you will break something.

For real world driving, I've managed a 4.94s 100-200kmh but as far as I can tell, is the fastest documented time for 6MT, so in an auto you'd likely be hitting closer to 4.5-4.6s.

Also I'm stock axles and driveshafts, no idea how people are snapping their axles to be honest but I also don't launch my car, always rolling.

How long you have been in this setup? My understanding is axel dont snap overnight is more like it will wearing out overtime and break it.

My P800 made 753whp at ces on e70 on a 100 degree day and it wasn't maxed out on full e85 because we left some in it for the trans' sake. Upper 700s is easy enough with a good intake manifold and free flowing exhaust. A manual car can hit low 800s

Hmmm this is perfect info. Do you have any 60-130 times?

Hmm this is very helpful for some baseline numbers. I didn’t know about the PCV issue but I will look into it more now that you mentioned it. Something else I will keep an eye out for.

I am very careful with my car, I let the engine and transmission warmup before doing anything too crazy. Even then I only plan on running the biggest numbers when I need it, but when I am just driving doing whatever I am perfectly content with a base 91 tune.
high 5s on a good day, low 6s in heat
Ok that sounds good. I was thinking low to mid 5’s at that power level. Do you have any slip from the trans or lose grip?

no, you arent running low 5s with 7xx hp lol.
trans wont hold in 6th, so we pull about 8 pounds of boost in 6. putting in a pure stg 2 shortly.

if i were to do it all again i'd have put a pure 900 on the car, but it runs fine for what it is

You're going to need a top mount/950+hp to keep up with a plaid, that's a car that traps 148+ consistently.

I think considering that every dyno is different, dynojet, mustang dyno, mainline hub, I wouldn't exactly say you can't run low 5s on 7xxhp, If i was auto then i would definitely be running low 5s.

I've had this setup for about 10,000kms now and doing at least one hit or two when i take the car out, and also rolling racing events once a month and occasional Mexico night.

Axles generally snap from constantly launching your car, massive amounts of wheel hop or heavy driveline shock which is generally avoidable if you are just roll racing.

You could be right, however my 100-200kmh is 4.94s as 6MT with a suboptimal shift which probably equates to mid - high 5s 60-130mph, an auto would do that at least 0.3-0.5s faster so i can only speculate that it would be low 5s.

Keep speculating. 5.85 60-130 was a 5.06 100-200kmh for me. No way to get to the low 5s without an extra 150 horsepower somewhere.
