I unfortunately have had some bad luck with the dealers around me. The one dealership that gave me the quote of $47.5k all of a sudden couldnt get that price approved. Then we came to $49.5K and then all of a sudden the manager said they could never make that price work and told me 51.5K take it or leave it. It is still a great deal but I cant justify giving that dealership my business for how they treated me while compromising on a color that I wasnt in love with and acted like I was the most offensive person ever by trying to stick with one of the original prices we agreed on over the phone/text message. Another dealer that essentially tried to pressure me into coming into their dealership that was 200 miles away with 1 days notice or else they wouldnt hold the deposit, and too many other dealerships that were thinking their supra was more special than every other supra and wouldnt budge on their price.

I am obviously bummed out about missing out on the 2020s and the savings but I at least am ordering a 2021 in the spec that I want and dont have to compromise on color and works a little bit better with my anticipated timeline when I started this search not too long ago. I dont plan on selling the vehicle any time soon so im not too worried about a couple thousand dollars savings over the 10+ years i hope to keep this car.

That sucks! I'm supposed to pick mine up on the 4th. I really hope they don't pull the same crap. My dealership is only 10 miles away. If I had to pay in the 50s I would definitely wait for the 2021s. I will post what happens on the 4th!

Wow, great price. Tough competition you were benchmarking. The closest competitor to me was the SS 1LE. Loved test driving that car and the endless/effortless torque. The nibbly Tremec was the only thing that gave me pause. ZL1 has to something totally different.

Anyway, welcome.

New Supra owner for 3 weeks now, live in Front Royal work in Manassas. Still trying to break the engine in with about 900 miles so far, will change the oil at 1200 miles. I have a lift in my garage so that should be easy.

Trying to keep the car mostly stock for a little while, plan on getting a custom alignment at Ptuning in Manassas soon.

Welcome! I live in Gainesville and work in Manassas as well. I am curious on your alignment reasons and results. Mine is a little "hoppy" around turns with uneven pavement. Smooth turns its fantastic.

Yes, those cars are definitely in a different class, lol. I love the smaller size of the Supra over the others and not having to buy used is huge. Especially with those cars. Then of course the price being 1000s less. Out of all those cars the closest one was the 2019 ZL1, it only had 2,500 miles for $53k. I hesitated and it sold quick. If that popped up again I would get that over the Supra.

I always get my sports cars aligned, factory settings are sometimes way off, A pro alignment makes a big difference on how the car feels, right now the rear end just feels off to me, I have had a number of track cars and done lots of alignments so I have a pretty good sense when something feels off.

This the first automatic sports car I ever owned, I have driven some dual clutch cars and it feels as good as those for the most part. I would have bought a manual if there was a choice.

Welcome. Yeah, the Downshift blue would have been one of my choices if one was available in my area. Gotta be a hot color though in Texas!! Of course, everything is so bloody hot down there I'm not sure it makes much difference . ;)
