"the engine turning off at a stop"

Please tell me that you only have to turn that off once and not every trip?
Every trip, but if you go into sports mode it's always off. Theres a list of criteria in the manual for when it doesnt engage.

The radio should turn off as soon as you lock the car via the remote. If not this is very irritating.

When I park my 1series and unload it, I can listen to the music, then I shut the door and lock the car. Radio turns off.

I coded the car the way that it remembers my last settings for driving mode and start/stop on or off.

I am testing the theory today in factory settings regarding the radio. One time I got out of the car the radio turned off, the second time it did not. I'm not sure what changed...It's currently in my work parking lot, locked, so well see if the battery is dead when I go out this afternoon lol.

If you truly have to disable it each ignition cycle I hope as hell you can code it out?

I donā€™t get why people hate it so much. Iā€™ve had it in a few cars and it never bothered me.

So the 'sport displays' only have power and torque - no options to display useful shit like boost, oil temp, oil pressure, trans temp, etc?

I was thinking of screen mirroring an OBD reading app for my engine data.

If it's like a BMW, then no. You can view them but only in diagnostic mode (same menu to activate dyno mode). It's quite convoluted and I think it displays the value as raw rather than converted into a unit of any kind.

There are aftermarket solutions. You can usually run a OBDII display that will replace an A/C vent or similar and that will show all the data you want.

If this is anything like other modern BMWs, pressing the Start/Stop button again after you turn off the car (with your foot off the brake obviously) or locking the car with your keyfob will turn off radio
I have this same issue with my M235i. You get used to it. Either double press the stop engine button, or radio will turn off upon locking the doors and walking away.

I agree! Itā€™s the smallest fraction of a second of delay, but when you want to move, fractions of a second are important! The steering also goes ā€œdeadā€ without the engine running.
