  1. New Toyota Supra Renderings based on prototype car

Might have a tiny bit of trouble getting the hood open.
  2. Leaked! Rear of 2020 Toyota Supra!

You would think so, however with most consumer products, accounting, sales and marketing departments have the power to overrule engineering at every level. Engineering: We want this spoiler. It will increase downforce under braking by 6.7% and improve lateral Gs by 0.03. If you will turn to...
  3. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

Not to mention nobody in Toyota USA's marketing department even remembers how to sell a sports car. They're all like "I dunno Bill, with this towing capacity the Supra doesn't stack up favorably with the F-150 at all."
  4. Our test drive and more technical details about the new Supra

In manufacturing engineering there is a concept known as DFM (design for manufacturability). Which has the aim of designing parts to be as easily manufactured as possible. This concept has been broadened to entail DFA (design for assembly). DFA is probably the main driver behind head-integrated...
  5. Leaked! Rear of 2020 Toyota Supra!

Agreed. Toyota did a fair enough job of incorporating many of the design cues of the concept FT-1 onto the production Supra. Sure they didn't use elements like the mirrors, partially transparent hood or active-aero. However, my own experience as an engineer led me to suspect that these things...
  6. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

I had a dry sump once, but the doctor gave me some cream and it went away after a couple of days.
  7. The MKIV vs MKV Thread

Just like Taco Bell continually recombines the same seven ingredients to produce "new" menu items.
  8. The MKIV vs MKV Thread

What Will MKIV Owners Do? Horribly, I think most MKIV owners will perform seppuku after receiving their first glance of the mighty A90. Much like how the roadside ditches in America were filled with lifeless corpses after Ford made the change from the Fox platform to the SN95. Don't even get me...
  9. New Toyota Supra Renderings based on prototype car

I felt a bit less salty today, so I produced some rough ps images of what the A90 would look like with more standard combinations of color-cladding. I admit, it does make a difference. Whether it's better, worse or indifferent... I leave to your own opinion.
  10. Teaser Video: Sound of Supra | NEW TOYOTA SUPRA

    Just gonna move on now...
  11. A80 Toyota Supra

It always irks me a little bit when reviewers, who were kids when the MKIV came out, invert the Supra's relationship with the FnF franchise. Being in the Fast and the Furious didn't make the Supra a legend. It was in the Fast and the Furious because it was already legendary.
  12. Ordering Process For New Supra

Canadians enjoy a lot consumer protections that don't exist in the USA. Dealerships here will try to sell you your own hat if you make the mistake of letting go of it.
  13. Ordering Process For New Supra

Good morning Brett, As of this moment we know exactly two things about the new Supra: jack and sh*t. With that said, If you'd like to give us money, we'll happily take it. While you're here we hope you'll take the time to explore some of Toyota's exciting new offerings that are available now...
  14. The A70TTR Dedication Thread!

For what spec Supra? Is that bare bones, or with all the gravy?
  15. Teaser Video: Sound of Supra | NEW TOYOTA SUPRA

I just go with the take off my glasses and squint technique.
  16. Teaser Video: Sound of Supra | NEW TOYOTA SUPRA

There's nothing wrong with the exhaust sound at all. But it's so strange hearing a Supra without the whine of the turbo, the woosh of the BOV and a bit of compressor stall tossed in for good measure. If I didn't know any better, I'd be like "sweet sounding NA bro."
  17. New Toyota Supra Renderings based on prototype car

Not usually a fan of my own work... but I think I nailed it on this one.
  18. Toyota FT-1 concept & A90 Supra design dissected

At least where I lived, the OEM wing really wasn't all that popular. A lot of the guys with heavily modded turbos went aftermarket. The TRD wing was very popular. Veilside too.
