  1. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

Dropped my car off an hour ago. They were nice enough to get me into a loaner (massive 4 runner but I guess it guzzles gas just as much lol), and called me an hour later to tell me the Supra Tech cannot access the database to get to the software update for the car. So he's gotta call tech...
  2. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

Did you also get full-screen car play?
  3. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

On FB there's been two posts from people who got the recall done and explain they got full screen car play as a result too. I suspect all of the updates are being pushed right now. My appointment is Wednesday and will report back - it sounds like there's a few others doing it this week too.
  4. Tire Review: Yokohama Advan Apex V601

Since posting I did get the tires and have run them at Laguna and running Sonoma this coming weekend.
  5. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

The FAQ states 1-3 hours but depends on how busy your dealer is. I suspect the ACTUAL update is 30 minutes.
  6. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

It's been the same for me but I've never attempted to start the car immediately after two presses. I think the cycle/glitch changes if you get into diagnostic mode after failed attempt(s). I'm not going to be one to try it out of course. Looks like this recall handles another recall around the...
  7. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

Remedy Available and you can schedule your appointment with your local dealer. I have my appointment for Wednesday.
  8. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

I get where you're coming from and I'm sorry if my response was unclear. In earlier discussions, lost in this thread, I had brought up the fact that most HPDE sessions have an out-lap where you would not be driving full-tilt and would have many braking attempts before the hot laps. My reading of...
  9. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

If it's not through the GR NASA Program then send it. I'm personally not concerned about the issue - period. But either cause of potential optics and/or legalities, since it's a Toyota sponsored program, they have to step in to cancel. If you're doing it yourself, that's completely on you -...
  10. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

    And... it's cancelled.
  11. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

Heard back from NASA and it appears the contacts that sent me a confirmation today were unaware of a recall.
  12. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

I emailed NASA a few days ago asking if there's a cancellation. Radio silence. **update** They sent a lengthy standard email pairing me with my coach etc. Doesn't seem canceled.
  13. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

This is why the 'out lap' is important at HPDE. You'll experience the failure prior to starting the hot laps.
  14. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

haven't gotten my cancellation notice for end of month Sonoma registration but I did see some others who got notices. what a pain for NASA.
  15. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

With all the banter, I wanted to confirm with you that there's no actual fix available yet? I'm unlikely to cause this problem to happen, but when a risk is identified, I'd like to eliminate it. Thanks!
  16. Supra Coding Step By Step

I feel your frustration. At least you can adjust the lights once you're at a crawl or stopped.
  17. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

The best thing to do is NOT to start the car improperly. That's the cause and easy to avoid.
  18. NHTSA Recalls (Aug 3, 2021) - Remedy Available

I'll be mindful of how I start my car at the next track day. :D
