  1. HPDE and hot weather

While fresh RBF 600 should hold up, your stock brake pads with RE71 tires might quickly become unhappy depending on how you're braking and on the THill configuration (east/west/5mile). Check for pad smearing on your rotors or any unusual wear throughout the day. Remember if the brake pedal is...
  2. CONTINENTAL EXTREME CONTACT DWS 06 plus

If you're looking for a good summer tire on the Supra for less cost than the PSS, but still retains more or less that feel/response, check the yokohama v601. They look good too if that matters to you. Your DWS06 experience is on par with any vehicle I've tried with those tires equipped...
  3. California Will Start Checking for ECU Tuning In Smog Checks This Month

I think the difference of this is if you're sent to state ref for other reasons they'll be checking this too. With Smog, they were already checking this as you stated. There's nothing really new about this and in terms of Smog - we got years to go before the Supra will require smog checks.
  4. Rear unstable under heavy braking

Did not read through the posts, but after getting an alignment and returning to the track, the stability of the car over crests at high speeds as well as full hard braking from 120+ to 40mph, dramatically stabilized. My car from the factory was all over the place (although still within spec)...
  5. Laguna Seca with Yokohama V601 tires

I'll preface what I'm currently using, with, I'd like to have one option where the device(s) work well with each other and generates an output with no effort. The Garmin Catalyst has one end of the spectrum, while there are tons of other options which are data driven in other ways. I use an...
  6. Laguna Seca with Yokohama V601 tires

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll continue sharing - hope it ends up at least helping one person with a future decision. Sonoma up next in August (the included GR NASA event).
  7. Laguna Seca with Yokohama V601 tires

Went back to Laguna! Car's got some SPL FLCAs and Caster bearings now. Running -2.5 camber F and -2.1 camber R. Decided to give the V601s a shot - stock sizes on the factory rims. Drove the tires around for ~300 miles before hitting the track - they're like an inbetween PSS/PS4s for NVH and...
  8. Overly active stability control after FLCA, caster bearing, alignment, and tires

Thank you again. The issue is resolved. I believe you're in SoCal, but if we ever cross paths absolutely my treat for a meal or beverage. Cheers man - love this community.
  9. Overly active stability control after FLCA, caster bearing, alignment, and tires

Thank you sir! I just emailed SPL and they emailed right back crazy fast.... "Do not use the round spacer above the bearing between the tapered spacer that goes into the knuckle. The tapered spacer puts the control arm at OEM location"
  10. Overly active stability control after FLCA, caster bearing, alignment, and tires

It looks like 5 & 6 were installed. However, there are two 5's in the diagram and it looks like my shop did not install the second 5. In my box there are two washers that look like 5 (one for each side is my assumption). Do you have the installation manual? I cannot find it online for the A90...
  11. Overly active stability control after FLCA, caster bearing, alignment, and tires

Thank you - I'll see what happens at Laguna and then if the problem continues, I'll work with the shop I had the work done at first. I always believe in working with the original team first. I think you've given some additional information which could be helpful. The other member in here...
  12. Overly active stability control after FLCA, caster bearing, alignment, and tires

Thanks for the detailed response. The only suspension changes made are the FLCA and front adjustable caster bearings. As I'm aware, those are the only two modifications required to adjust camber and caster in the front of the vehicle. Everything else suspension related is stock. I did not...
  13. Overly active stability control after FLCA, caster bearing, alignment, and tires

Thanks, I look forward to hearing what they say.
  14. 285/35/19 Yokohama Apex V601 affect DSC?

I actually wonder if switching to a matched size up front will help. Though I think CarGuy101 has mismatched front/rear like you and doesn't have any issues - but he's on PS4S.
  15. Laguna Seca April 18, 2021 with SpeedSF

It really is driver mod. I've kept my cars fairly stock over the years and I think it's been helpful. All the cars I've owned, I've never matched what race car driver Randy Pobst could do in them. That tells me I am making mistakes and have much more to learn. Completely personal preference...
  16. 285/35/19 Yokohama Apex V601 affect DSC?

hello! What timing. I started a related thread yesterday. https://www.supramkv.com/threads/overly-active-stability-control-after-flca-caster-bearing-alignment-and-tires.9705/ Seems like the tire has something to do with VSC. I am using stock sizes all around. Is it still doing it after you’ve...
  17. Overly active stability control after FLCA, caster bearing, alignment, and tires

Thank you for your input. Definitely in a long sweeper, stability is grabbing like crazy. I got these tires (Advan Apex V601). They're basically a PSS/PS4s equivalent. It could just be they need more break-in. I am going to Laguna Seca on Thursday anyways, so we'll see what happens. Appreciate...
  18. What is everyone's Daily Driver/ Other car?

Hello - the commuter is a Model 3.
  19. Overly active stability control after FLCA, caster bearing, alignment, and tires

**Update** Thanks to forum member @Msoupe - the shop fixed the mistake and I'm back in business. The 6 spacers included with the FLCAs (3 for each side), are only to be used as needed, if the car is lowered. Since my car was is not lowered, no spacers should be used. SPL designed the part to...
  20. What Mods Do and Do Not Void the Warranty?

Dang, so you've jeopardized bits of your warranty already and are planning to do more! For example...wind deflectors stuck onto your mirrors right? Well if the plastics started to fail on the mirror or your entire mirror assembly had to be replaced, you might have to deal with a dealer not happy...
