I found this video in the Stratosphere Blue thread:
Still doesn’t look as purple as the real thing, but it’s sometimes close to what I saw on the BMW last weekend.
Made it to the BMW dealer. They had several mineral white cars and luckily a couple of Portimao Blue as well. Spending some time looking at the blue in the bright sun and then cloud cover taught me that this color looks completely different in real life vs most pictures. There is a lot of purple...
Yeah. Thanks for the tip :)
I was actually already aware that portimao blue was the BMW equivalent. I also neglected to mention in my rambling that I’ve seen it in person on a G42 M240i. At least in the sun I liked it a lot. Would be nice to see it again, ideally on a Supra, but that isn’t...
Yeah. I definitely don’t like purple hues on a blue car.
Conversely I don’t like pure white depending on the car.
Anyway. Color really comes down to personal preferences after all. Nevertheless I appreciate everyone’s advice/perspective. I’m mostly just venting some mental illness from my...
Thankfully on this same outing some indirect sun was hitting the rear of the car so I could see some of the pearl effect. I loved it.
I also really like a nice blue car. Something like Porsche sapphire blue being one of my favorites. What I don’t like is purple in blue. Something I know SB has...
So bear with me. Ramble time:
Earlier today I reached out to one of the dealers I’m on the waiting list with and asked them to change my preference from AZ to stratosphere blue. Sure enough 3 hours after that another dealer called to tell me a buyer backed out on a AZ 3.0 premium inbound to the...
Yeah. To that end I agree with what was said earlier in this thread about comparing it directly to a Cayman as well, but what generation and trim? A new base 718 now starts at $68,000. The S now starting at $80,000. Ugh. Porsche tax keeps going up.
I've managed to track down three dealers near me (sort of) without markups, and without insane waiting lists IF you aren't looking for a manual. They're all Baxter owned, have a policy of no markups, and are "SmartPath" dealers. So a little more transparency up front.
As of today I'm on waiting...
Can't say I agree with this take. Mark was very complementary in their review of the 2020 Supra and even said that people need to get over the BMW collab at the end. Yes, he found some issues with the first 2021 3.0 they drove and pointed them out, and yes he preferred the comparative rawness...
I tried the two paddle pull method on my test drive of a Supra late last year. Obviously didn't work so I just put it in neutral. The car is pretty quiet IMO and I wanted to hear it rev while I was sitting at a stop light with the windows down. I wouldn't want to do this while moving though.
I walked around the G87 several times on Sunday trying to find an angle that I liked. This was the best I could come up with and I still don't love it. Interestingly the side profile was probably what I liked the least. Which surprised me since I like the profile of the G42 a lot. It's something...
Thanks so much for looking that up. This also confirms my suspicion that this car has been modified (looks lowered in pictures). So I'll be walking away from this one.
Here's the carfax for anyone interested:

...it's a head scratcher for me showing as a two owner. Makes me wonder if the 2nd owner was technically the...
It's a BMW dealer with a sister Toyota dealer. The report shows that the sister dealer performed the replacement. The car is also 6 hours away from me, so this type of finding is giving me pause on pursuing it any further.
Hi folks,
I'm looking at a very low mileage used 2023 Supra right now. One thing that caught my eye on the VIN report is that the dealer just replaced the front struts. Any reason to be concerned with this? Perhaps the car is having some clunking noises I've heard of some people experiencing...
Got to see the G87 in person today. It looked better to me in the flesh, but overall I don’t think I like it at all. At least not in Brooklyn Grey.
I just can’t shake the impression that the rear and front bumpers, and side sills look like they were tacked on like some aftermarket afterthought...
