Ah! That may be it - having the car coded to start in Sport Mode will simultaneously disable start/stop. If you want to do an experiment (you know, for science) it would be interesting to code the car to start in Comfort and see if Start/Stop Memory or deactivation still works. I'm guessing it...

Really? I would *love* to be wrong on this - it’s been all over the BMW forums as well. Do you have memory enabled (or disabling of start/stop) and the car still starts in comfort mode?

As of 3/2023 i-level It is not possible to code memory or disable auto start stop. This spans across all BMWs in the US (other markets may differ).

Yep, I use BimmerLink to reset the oil maintenance interval each year as I don’t clear enough miles to do it via the Kombi. Works great.

BimmerLink allows you to reset the CBS. I have to do it that way as I do not put enough miles on the car to allow reset via the cluster.
