Look at hawk direct - and search for pad shape not by car - HB916 and HB917 I think you can find rears for 60 or 70. Fronts for sure are more common.
  2. Suspension Clunking Noise

I will add you need to look at the spring clearance up on the inside of the strut tower - back side. There are ribs in the strut tower. If you have put more camber in it with a camber plate or control arms, or lowering springs, it will rub especially when sharply turned, so the spring makes a...

So now that you brought up brake pad combo split. I will share my final conclusions on what is best after toasting many break pads and rotors and break dust seals etc. even then going to a big break kit, primarily dealing with heat. I have verus brake ducts on the front and a vented fender as...
  4. Track Supra from Germany!

ok now that I know bit more will add to the comments about the supports as the trunk is plastic. If you see how this one was done the uprights are rights on the outside edge so it is on rim of the body, with a metal plate underneath. Also they replaced the rubber foot that is the level stops...

Nice to know. I think the 10 “ rims may only go up to 285 but if I could get 295 on the rim I might give it a try.
  6. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

Got it. Makes sense. If others do not have all of that. The 18x10” apex wheel fits with stock struts and a camber plate with as much camber as you can give it. Stock springs will rub on strut tower ribs after about - 2.8. So there is limits. With coil overs you then can go higher if you want.

That was what I was thinking stock front strut is pretty close with that big spring/ perch an is where it can rub as well as fender well inside or top edges - so I did not think you could get to a 315 square with out wide body stuff. So sounds like it is tight.
  8. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

So I mentioned in some other comments that I run 275/35/18 - apex wheels that are made specifically for the supra - as you know the fronts are stock 255 - so I did not think 275 would fit with stock fenders. But with these they do. Big brakes as well. I am not sure if a 295 would fit on front...
  9. Track Supra from Germany!

Sorry one more thing on the wing. As it helps plant the car it makes a slower tire faster as it gives you more grip! So you can use cheaper tires and still get pretty good times. I have not went to purple crack yet and got a set of Hoosier R7 but it is tempting. Estimate moving up to that...
  10. Track Supra from Germany!

Ok I see you are all in - as it looks like you have fuel cell ( looking through the window in your pick) So you are on your way to a full race one which is great. So on the wing. This one is from Verus Engineering - and I made a bigger custom end plate. It works really well. You really...

Great for everyone else jumping in, the 200 treadwear group are a good choice for daily and tracking. And agree with all the above. Lots of options. The F1 goodyears yes, those are some really good fast tires, but were a little to pricy for me so have tried to get that good balance. Plus...
  12. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

Good point on the name of thread. Looks like there a few more people looking at this and having an interest. Could always restart something if needed so will see how it goes. I really hope more new people to track days get engaged as they do not have to learn everything the hard way and can...
  13. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

I am not familiar with SC 3? I also hear good things on the A052 as part of the fast 200s. I have not yet went to purple crack with Hoiser yet but may get some just for time trial but also changes my classing. The Hankook z214 are a 40 treadwear so semi slick. Definitely the fastest, but...

So I used 12 sets of tires in two years. Have tested the following - 275/35/18 square set up on APEX 10x18 rims. Federal 595 rsrss, Federal 201M, Nitto NT1, Hankook Z214, Maxxis rc1 and now rc2, Nankang AR1, Continental extreme contact sport, Hankook rs4, Kumho escta v730. Aligment set up...

Nice to see another track addict. I have done a lot to mine and have 64 track days on the car. I also instruct for NASA and PCA in the US Arizona region. Happy to connect and share my experience with the car.
  17. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

So great discussion and good to see there are a few more track addicts out their. Now that the instruction has come up, I would really love to have some of the new people that are getting ready to do their first track day, or those that want to do a few more jump in and share what their...
  18. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

Again - glad people are jumping in - I like the format you. We have a "time attack" that is similar with the 4 laps, but is not a cumulative average, just fastest lap. Made some tire blankets and go out in HPDE 4 first to warm tires. So tire temps sitting on the line are at 160 per the...

Good stuff - and for those that have not looked up all the heat ranges - most street/track pads go up to about 850F max or even less. Hence why you run out of brake pad. They still are better than stock but have limitations. So have to get something that works for you. Hopefully this helps...
  20. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

I posted this on another thread, but if you really want to know what is going on with your brake temp based on your driving levels and track etc. look at heat painting the rotor. Here is a product that you can get. I also do not recommend drilled rotors - they will crack. I tried them in...
