It seems more likely to be the other way around. Notice that these people said that everything feels right, in its place, like a true Euro sports GT. And with that, the Supra has the iDrive screen, and a ZF transmission stick, stuff borrowed from the BMW parts bin.
It could still be a Toyota...
I say lots of carbon fibre. Modern sports car, and coming out of none other than Gazoo Racing, the same group that built two looms to weave CF into the LFA's pillars.
True, minus the diffuser, GTE wang, fender flares, racy paint, and a totally different interior.
Otherwise, it looks pretty close.
I guess the best we have are some month-old spy shots.
Anyway, sticking a bunch of renderings in a time capsule and opening it in like 3 years could be a nice idea.
BMW S-series engines were built as the high-performance engines for the M series, as far as I know. The S15 in the E30 M3 (could be wrong), the S50 in the E36 M3, the S54 in the E46 M3, the S65 for the E92 M3...
The important one is the B58, which was found in the M140i, the M240i, the 340i...
True.
But I'm calling Geneva 2019 because of three reasons:
1. It matches up with what we've been able to infer about release dates.
2. It's massive. Perfect place to reveal a car with such a massive following.
3. I feel like Tada wants to apologize for just giving us a racing concept and...
I feel like Tada is gonna start letting out more info, now that we hit the 1-year-left-for-release mark. Perhaps some performance stats, more final body parts. Maybe we won't find out about manual 'boxes until the final release.
What autoshow do you think they'll release it in? I'm calling 2019...
Maybe.
I would say the Supra is wayy more expected than the Bimmer, so the basic measurements would be made on the Supra, and the Z5, which is much less anticipated, does the main testing.
Though I do expect Toyota to do some more benchmarking themselves at a later time, or on a private racetrack.
Hey, It's still covered in that black cloth, and from what I understand from automotive spy shots, it's either a cheap Corvette fascia shield or not close to production. So I'm calling the Supra first.
