It's supposed to be a cruiser. Poor Z5. It wasn't meant for the track.
If you want affordable speed that still hits the Supra hard, say M2 or SS 1LE.
Anybody think the Supra might get a targa?
I agree.
The American sports cars fight mostly through their power and torque (no offense to the Big Three). Not so much finesse.
They do look like angry ponies, but the Supra beats them up at that.
I think the Stingray C7 will also be an interesting duelist, and maybe an SS 1LE.
NTITOI, the...
Isn't it always with American cars. Cheap as dirt compared to EDM and JDM, but less finesse, bigger bore, and enough safety technology for the POTUS to ride in.
But I'm interested to see how Ford is gonna get a V-8 to run 25 mpg.
And you're right. The Supra should have been released just after...
Yeah. Probably only one year and a bit.
And I thought the Supra MkIV (no offense to any owners) looked a bit derpy.
The proportions were nice, just not the curvy, bubble schtuff.
The angles really sharpen it up, to the point where OCD wants to keep it stock and not ruin it.
Tada firmly said I-6 and FR, but really, I think he's gonna use a turbo four for 4 reasons (haha).
1. Emissions regulations.
2. Performance targets.
3. At least a bit of tuneability.
4. Each car has that one quirk, amirite? It would basically be a facelifted 2018 Supra MkIV if not for some...
Yeah. I suspect some higher-ups at Toyota know what the real car will approximately look like, but they're still putting finishing touches on it under cover of camouflage.
Still, I doubt Best Car did much.
I would too. People did that to 86s and even Supra MkIVs only a year or two old.
You're probably right. But that's exactly the problem. The Supra is still very much camo-clad (the side mirrors are pure white body color in the latest spy shots!), Tada is on PR secrecy drugs, and development and updates have slowed.
If there's anything new we can find out now, it's piecing...
Hey, a guy did it to a 997.2 GT3 RS.
True. But the fact that it's a Supra, with a gated box...
I'm very sure Tada will add a manual, he's just pranking us for the time being.
Was inactive...
I want to retain the stock block, because I'm not taking it drag racing. Just a little hoonigan, maybe drift. And I used mostly aftermarket parts off eBay, had a local mechanic help out. More boost too, and a cryo-treated block and conrods.
As I get back on topic...
Technically, you should be able to run more boost on race gas, because of the knock resistance. If we switch to something like E85, manufacturers could potentially pull figures of 200hp+ on just a turbo I-3 *cough cough* Kia Stonic *cough cough* through the higher...
ECU remap with that on-the-fly reflasher for track days, normal days, or emissions-tests days. If you have that on your Supra...
By the way, how many HP does yours run?
I thought it was a 1JZ-GE.
I'm talking about the North America first-gen model.
EDIT: Just searched it up. Looks like it has an NA 2JZ. Need to brush up on engine codes. I was talking about a tuned GTE swap.
2JZ-swap an SC300? I saw a drag special like that...
The only real things you can do to an NA engine without forced induction is freer breathing (intake and exhaust), EFI remap, compression, and displacement. But still.
