Standard has worked for me.
80-10mph threshold braking until they start smoking, let them cool a little and repeat again for a couple more stops. Driving around without using the brakes and then park the car.
When I say threshold braking, I mean those tires are chirping and you are modulating...
Mods that made the biggest difference in cooling:
Intake manifold
Hood vent
Everything else just added to the whole
Another fun fact, our fan never operates at 100%, or even near it, with OEM tuning.
I can already do as many laps as I want as far as cooling system is concerned. My tires on the other hand, not so much.
Nobody shares anything here but are still hell bent on being right, so I stopped sharing any actual real data. It's a waste of my time and mouth breathers will argue even when...
I mean talk and waxing theory is fun and all but I think I'd rather use (and am) real world data to make choices.
If I had money for every time something on paper made total sense and that same thing happening in the real world was different, I would have some money.
If your final goal is really 900whp, try to be honest with yourself as most never actually do what they are going to say when it comes to that kind of power. If you REALLY are going to do that and do it right... the big items would be:
PI setup with LPFP upgrade
Intake Manifold
Full Exhaust
Big...
1k fan showed improvement when used with a hood vent. It's all about getting air through the cooling stack and out
If the 1k fan didn't work, they wouldn't have it standard on the M cars and in the cooling package option for the M240i/M340i/M440i
Also comes standard on the hybrids like...
Very much also depends on the tire as they all run different widths even in the same "size". Also, some stretch is good for handling and response.
Here are some real world examples of mine:
275/35/19 Nankang AR1 on 19x10
275/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 on 19x10
275/35/18 Kumho V730...
The fan duty changes depending on many factors. One of which is coolant temp vs target coolant temp vs ground speed.
If coolant temp is not at coolant target, the fan can keep running up until around 75 mph or so.
Yea, I was going to say the same thing, that is 100% BS. Fuel cools. The pump is always submerged in fuel because it's in a basket. Only time it wouldn't be is when you would fuel starve and then you have other issues.
I fully fill my tank to where it is overflowing before every session, been...
What technically fits and what works well are two different things. So many articles about this very topic. It's like some people just choose to be ignorant.
