That would be funny and sad if FR-S has a manual and the Supra didn't.The trend has been for high performance sports cars to go pure DCT or auto only. Think Toyota would screw the manual enthusiasts and only give the FT-1 / Supra a DCT or auto transmission?
+1 anyone who hasn't tried one out yet do yourself a favor and drive the the newest BMW and Porsches with a DCT. It's alot a fun.I'm all for technology and a dual clutch shifts faster than I ever could. And I'll be able to actually use the car as a daily if I want.
It might be fun but I think it'd get old like playing a video game after a while.+1 anyone who hasn't tried one out yet do yourself a favor and drive the the newest BMW and Porsches with a DCT. It's alot a fun.
Most companies don't have the balls to do it but I don't blame them. The take rate for manuals on some cars that do offer it still is like extremely low.Wouldn't be surprised 1 bit if no manual coming. Most companies don't make them anymore.
Tetsuya Tada the same guy who headed up engineering for entire FR-S and BRZ project is heading the FT-1 too so there's hope for a manual for the Supra or whatever it'llb e called yet. That would be funny and sad if FR-S has a manual and the Supra didn't.
No way no how. RC-F is a Lexus and it doesn't have the Supra's legacy to live up to. It'll have more performance than the RC-F all around and that calls for a MT or DCT.What's worse is if the FT-1 somehow gets neither a manual nor DCT but only an auto like the Lexus RC-F!
That'll be changing! RC-F announced to be getting a manual. What's worse is if the FT-1 somehow gets neither a manual nor DCT but only an auto like the Lexus RC-F!
I stand correctedThat'll be changing! RC-F announced to be getting a manual.

RC F and IS F to gain a "manual-shift gearbox"
Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) unveiled the Lexus LS Sports 650 concept a few years ago and it fueled speculation about a high-performance sub-brand.
We haven't heard much about TMG models since then but the company's Director of Business Operations, Rob Leupen, has revealed "I don't think you will find in the next four or five years a TMG car in any dealership." Leupen went on to say the Sports 650 concept won't be going into production despite earlier reports that it could arrive as early as next year. As he explained, "The LS for us is a showcase, it had nearly everything changed."
Despite downplaying plans for production models, Leupen confirmed TMG is working on a "manual-shift gearbox" for the Lexus RC F and IS F. Speaking of the latter model, he hinted it could use hybrid technology.
