M8 bolts drop right in. Tapping the holes and using the oem m10 bolts is probably the way it should be done, but using the m8s w/o tapping is good enough for me.

The factory uses self-tapping bolts.
Really? Do you have the part number for this?

I am considering tapping the hole so I don't need to jack the car up to reach the but from the wheel well every time.

Did you have to tap the holes?
It’s a thru hole. You’re supposed to drop the bolt with washers in the hole, and install serrated nut through the wheel well. Cusco has forgotten to include this nut in early shipments, but they’re quick to ship you the hardware free of charge.

That doesn't look like a self tapping bolt.

Regardless, I just tapped the hole for m10x1.5.Forgot that the towers are aluminum so they were super easy to tap.

I installed the Cusco bar, you do not have to jack the car up to reach the underside of the hole. I guess it might be difficult if you lowered the car, have very large arms or stubby fingers.

When I put my Cusco in I knew I would be taking it on & off a few times

I looked at threading the strut tower M10 then decided to go M12, drilled the hole a little bigger & taped it, figured it would be stronger with a full thread depth bolt

I changed all the fitting to Stainless while I was at it.

Just turn the steering wheel for better reach access

What tool did you use to tap it? Im considering doing this rather then use the m8×50 1.25 bolt. And what method?

After having to remove the brace for other engine upgrades, I’ll be tapping these holes. Such a pain to blindly find the bolt to engage the nut
