I’m in the DMV area, was doing some late night driving on some pretty dark roads and deer just jumped in front of me :’( just got her last month too, have no clue on what’s the best course of action in regards to repairs, talked to my insurance but now I’m just looking for any Toyota certified shop to take it

IMO - make your insurance claim, and follow the process to get it repaired. It will cost you some time + your deductible. When it’s all done, carry on as you were.

I wouldn’t recommend getting a cash payout and using it as play money unless you have connections for cheap labor and this is really just a side project car for you. Which it sounds like it is not if you’re even asking this question.

At a minimum I'd get the front radiators looked at for leaks/damage in addition to fixing all the obvious broken bits.

If you don't want to go widebody, but don't want to stay factory, the ings+1 kit has direct replacements for most of your broken panels.

Fix it - sell it, buy another new on without accident history.
This! Especially if the car becomes a collector, you don't want a accident history reported on the car if you decided to sell down the road. You may not even take a hit (no pun intended) now as used market is still on fire.

Wow - that's rough. A lot of deer where I'm at. The thought of hitting one worries me enough that I'm tempted to drive the wife's 4runner at night.

Sorry to see that, man. I would take it to Ourisman Certified Toyota Collision Center in Fairfax. I just had my hood replaced there, from tree damage and they use Glasurit paint...can't tell the difference. Be prepared for a long time to completion, for it took 6 weeks, but they do good work.

If you have the money and no repair work is needed on internal parts D&V autobody is great but very pricy even if it’s not D&V masters. They would be able to restore it although it would be a wait. To be honest I would rather total out most cars than deal with the hassle of extensive body repair

Killed mine. Still daily driving the Honda while I wait on my slow insurance company. Just shove the grill back in its hole and keep it moving. Gotta say Honda Civic are tanks, highly impressed. Good job Honda!

@ShakaDaKine thanks I was looking for a Toyota certified collision center and this place looks good, I’m scheduled with them, sadly they were one month out like most auto repair places,
2 weeks left till appointment and then from there we’ll see how it goes, I damaged the aluminum barrier thingy too and just lifted the car and saw that the heat exchangers also got bent a bit so not driving on it any more.
most shops said parts are gonna take a while too since it’s a 2023

Just updating this thread, my car has been in the shop since Dec 12, still not finished, it was scheduled to be done by Feb 03, but they just giving me different reasons on why it’s taking longer, main one being the last part that’s left hasn’t come in yet but once another 2 weeks passed they said the wrong part was sent in to them. ??
