Wow, reading stuff like this makes me realize how lucky I was to get my 24. I happen to bump into someone, who knew someone, who knew someone, who knew the head of Toyota Sales. Who then made a phone call and had Toyota/BMW build my exact car to my request and shipped here. No deposit, no paperwork signed and at MSRP. Just a phone call 3.5 months later that my car was ready for pick up.

But before this I was already calling dealers over 1,000 miles away trying to negotiate ordering, despite etc. And none of them (though they were doing mark ups) said the deposits were nonrefundable).

I thought just like everyone said that finding an automatic would be very quick ? and there is 2024
Blue mt sitting on the lot 10 miles from me …
It seems like 80% of Supras made for the ‘24 year are manual. It’s easier to find a manual. I too was shopping for an auto earlier this year. I ending up getting one for $5k under MSRP, although not my #1 choice of color.

True and everyone said that it would be harder to find a manual and that automatics would be quickly available Everything within a 500-mile radius is only in manual maybe two automatics but with peanut butter interiors ?I wonder how often Toyota adds Supras to the system would be nice to see spreadsheet for 2025 This waiting is seriously frustrating I've been waiting since March this year My dealer asked if I wanted a black one because another dealer had an allocation and my dealer could have taken it from them but I didn't want that color. The only option for me is a blue one with a black interior in automatic.

Damn. Crazy to read about people jumping through hoops to buy a Supra. I guess I've been lucky both times with my '20 and now '24. This last one is a manual that I just happen to check in Autotrader one day and this local dealer had one that originally had a buyer waiting on the car with a deposit but backed out due to financial reasons. I bought it right away at msrp as they refused any discounts.

I've been looking for about a month now and of the 11 cars within 500 miles, only 2 are blue ATs (the only 2 ATs) which is my target. Unfortunately both are "Sales Pending" and are still in the build phase, with shipping estimated at early/middle November.

This Supra is now on end of life builds. I don't think the dealers ever had any leverage to get what they wanted. My guess is the factory has a ton of maual tramissions already built and it only works in this car. The ZF can be put into other cars. So they are pumping out the manuals. It is all a sunk cost to Toyota at this point.

So… what happened to all the “manuals are/will be more desirable” talk? By the sounds of it the AT is in fact more desirable.
Long term, Manuals will still be more desirable because there are overall less of them around. But a lot of people shopping for a new car never drove manuals before, so not surprising that they are on lots if Toyota is prioritizing them.

Crazy, I got mine in May, and at the time, I couldn't find a manual in my preferred spec for months prior lol.

That's how these thing have gone historically. New buyers want the automatic at a higher rate than long term used buyers will. And that imbalance drives the demand for the manuals, and causes them to hold their value better. So in that sense, history is playing out as expected.

That being said, I'm not convinced anyone will want manuals in the future. But who knows? In a future full of 8,9,10 second EVs, maybe "classic" ICE buyers will appreciate the manuals, since cars with ICEs aren't what you'd buy for raw acceleration anyway.

I doubt they are going to go below MSRP unless they are holding on to the car for more then 30 days.

70k out the door tho. Damn. Might have to go used and loosen up your colour options.

He told me that the minimum is a $2k markup. At first he wanted $5k but I negotiated it down to $2k I don't know what to do now I'm sure this car will sell within two days msrp is 62.300$
