Great video! I think ill give it a go after my service in a couple of months.

I may be wrong but i think due to the quieter exhausts in the UK small changes like this may make a larger difference to our OPF strangled cars (from a sound perspective).

FYI, if you wanna be a cheap bastard, a wine-bottle stopper fits perfectly and plugs the small hole in the airbox lid leading to the resonator. Then remove the foam and drop in a high-flow filter. The resonator seems to filter out higher-pitched turbo whistle, so with it blocked off you should hear is a bit more.

I'd prefer the actually BMS cap if I decide to do it. I plan to leave it in because it maintains the stock look even more. I'm more interested in the performance aspect of the drop in filter.

I saw a thread on here showing 10hp + when it came to tuned applications. Wondering if the filter, stock intake + an OTS map will boost more power.

I installed the HKS foamy and a Verus resonator plug last week before an HPDE.

I didn't notice any difference at all on the track, power (wasn't expecting anything) or sound wise. This is largely because I have hearing problems, and between wearing a helmet and the wind noise a friggin 747 could be landing on top of me and I wouldn't hear it.

I did however notice some mild, but welcome increases in turbo/intake noise on the street.

Worth it? Meh. Hopefully it will help with IATs on track so my car won't pull so much power on hot days.

I also installed a Verus heat shield and covered my lower intake box with some old gold heat reflective tape I had laying around at the same time as the filter/res delete. That's probably going to make more of a difference than the panel filter did.

Filter is holding up well after several HDPEs and several thousand miles of daily driving. I'm on a Stage 1 ECUTEK tune. I'll probably replace it with another one when it's time.

I felt/saw zero difference in performance or in logs when I swapped the OEM filter for an aftermarket drop-in filter. Pure700, E40.

I didn't feel anything either. Helped with the sound a tiny bit, but deleting the snorkel did more.

Probably not worth the money, but it's a consumable.

There are a few dyno tests comparos on YouTube. Found this video on K&N panel filter dyno result on Subaru CrossTrek, which has measly 152 crank hp. Fast forward to 6:12 of the video for the K&N part. It's not a mind-blowing number, but you will see some gains. I also saw another K&N dyno test on Camaro SS that netted 8 whp gain.
