Is anyone else here running SPL lower control arms with an aftermarket sway bar? Either Eibach or aFe? If so does your sway bar hit the LCA’s?

I have that problem and it has been bugging me since I’ve upgraded to the SPL lower control arms and I haven’t been able to figure out what’s causing it or how to fix it.

My sway bar hits the lower control arm and has made a pretty deep etch/groove in it. The stock sway bar hit it slightly, but my aFe was so bad I had to chop off the last hole (softest setting) soI could drive it without causing a ton of damage.

I realize the aFe sway bar can be pushed forward due to the brackets, which I did, but it still hit it. I even got the SPL end link in hopes to prevent the binding but it still hits when the wheel is turned and suspension compresses. See attached photos. Yellow was paint to track the rubbing.

It’s fixed now via chopping the sway bar but it isn’t the ideal solution. Any ideas and thoughts welcomed.

?This as I have some interest in the SPL LCAs. I’m running Cuscos f/r on stock end links, so no comment on fitment.

I still highly recommend them. They are great and unlock a lot of camber adjustment and remove some of the rubber slop and makes it feel more precise.

I just have no idea why my fitment wasn’t great.

Did you fix this ??

I am having the same issue with Cusco sways

I have not tried the end links yet which I am purchasing.

did you unbolt the end links and removed preload from the sway bar then reinstalled the endlinks at a shorter length ?

normally a shortened end link should resolve this is what I am told.

i spoke to local shops and spl in regards to this

FYI I’m having the same issue with full SPL parts up front including adjustable caster bushing. There’s no real way around it. I’m going to chop off the last hole (softest setting) on the AFE sway bar. Otherwise the bar will end up eating the control arm.

Interesting. I thought the caster bushings would’ve helped a little.

Yes I “fixed it” lol. Only way I was able to fix it was by chopping off the last hole on the sway bar.

It would be nice if there was a more “official” fix instead of chopping the sway bar to make it clear.

FWIW I ended up cutting the last hole (softest setting) of my AFE sway bar in order to make room. Full suspension travel now has no running issues.

I’ll be contacting SPL and informing them. Hopefully they can add that info so in the future people will know these two are not compatible.

Me too have the same issue and chopped my AfE sway bar. I also have the Ohlins coilovers so shit got real tight so I had to also swap out the SPL front end links to stock.
