doesnt matter if its flashing and bold and font size 80. people will still ask and not use the search and if its something they dont like to hear they go ape shit.
So while you are putting some brand of oil in the motor (assuming you change your oil) I haven’t got many answers on brand weight and why.

I have been a BITOG Member for 20+ years. The B58 discussion focuses on oil weight. My question is what brand, what weight, and why. For example, I will 1st try Valvoline European 5w-30 because it is an SN grade low Sap’s oil with good anti wear additives package.(~1000ppm ZN,PO, 200 BO, 1000 ppm CA, and virtually MO.) I will monitor oil temperature, consumption, and the general feel as to how the engine runs at low and high rpm. If it feels good. I will have a VOA and UOA sample analyzed for wear metals at 1000, 2000 miles, …. If it doesn’t feel right, I'll drain and go to another oil like Mobil 1 ESP, Castrol Euro, Amsoil, motorcraft, …

I asked the question because of all the experience you all have with your Supra’s. Lots of folks are using liqui moly. Why?

Need to pin this so people stop making threads about it..
Maybe if there were some contributing intellectual thoughts and team discussions there wouldn’t be a need to keep visiting the topic. As a retired Principal Engineer and Project Manger most of the posters here wouldn’t make a year with me. Give me 5 why’s, why your using the engine oil in your car?

With people like this, there is *always* I high possibility of:

1. Inability to quote posts/use the internet correctly (possibly because of rage posting)
2. The need to talk down on others by saying they held some position in some company and therefore that makes them ultimate beings in all situations.
3. Bringing a more white paper type of logic into the conversation and wonder why people don't take them seriously.
4. Being retired.

I think this guy has nailed 1-4 so far.

But…. They can “feel” how their engine runs with different oils. That right there is some impressive shit.

It seemingly comes in waves every few months. I cannot tell if it’s trolling or incompetence (or both).

Not one can answer the 5 why’s why you are using the selected engine oil.
OHHHH OHHHHH OOOOHHH LET ME TRY!!! LET ME TRY!!

1. I like oil
2. I like oil that does oil things
3. I like thicker oil because it takes longer to become thin
4. I've learned if I bleed out my vital fluids, I die. I consider myself being very close to a combustion engine, therefore blood = oil = living engine
5. It ain't none of my business
