Oh shit, I thought I was just being stupid and maybe coded something wrong. I noticed I tried to disable it, but it still stayed on. Thought it was just me, but didn't bother to check since I drive in sport 99% of the time.

Edit: Another thing I noticed is a new warning screen on the headunit. I rarely see the "welcome" animation now. Any way to disable that warning screen?

I can feel the throttle response is a bit better from a stop. Much less sluggish feeling for sure. The car shift a little bit smoother especially downshifts. I also noticed my steering wheel became a tiny bit heavier. The JBL system definitely sounds better. I remember the 2024 Supra update notes also mentioned about tweak on JBL sys
Do you have the latest version of Bimmercode? Notice any other changes?

i’d like to share my mistakes. i lingered at a techstream (GTS+) step when i shouldn’t have. after you’re done choosing the units of measure to be used, that “next” arrow is indeed a Finish. anything else after that can be ignored and ISTA can be opened.

after uploading my module information to ISTA, “CON” in the module tree kept resulting as “Unresponsive”. this is the iDrive Controller. i reset the connection process, restarted my computer, let the car sit for 4 mins — nothing helped. took it for a lap around the block and came back. for whatever reason, it fixed.

also, when creating the Action Plan, it failed twice for me before actually going through

some information in case anyone experiences something similar…… and gets frustrated like me who was hangry in a 94° garage ?

i went from 7/21 to 3/24 software. my observations:
  • car is much more peppy/responsive
  • heavier steering (10/10, fantastic)
  • sound system sounds more like BMW HK, i'd say it's a 50% improvement!
edit: definitely a 50% improvement but still vastly inferior to BMW HK
  • AVS is more comfortable
  • smoother shifts but the downshift to 2nd is more aggressive now..
  • is it me or does the HUD automatically adjust brightness level now?
  • because i drive like a gpa on the streets, cannot comment on TCS/VSC until august or so :)

Are you able to turn off stop/start with Bimmercode?

the memory function? it's been really hot or raining here, and i'm susceptible to heat rashes, so i haven't sat down to code everything back. maybe today i can quickly check this for you :)
Line the garage door with AC vent duct work and put in some extra blow above the garage. Then get a mini split in your garage. Best investment ever down here ?

Based on previous updates / other ppl taking this update where it is a smaller jump, do we have any idea how many of these things are from the most recent 3/24 update vs which ones are spread out across the 2.5 years of updates before that?

I jumped from some 2021 version (car had never been updated) to whatever they flashed for the recall - presumably the newest available at the time - when I finally took it in around 9/23. Didn't really notice any of these things but arguably I haven't been paying too much attention either.

Also what is AVS?

I had one of the original software version on my 2019 built 2020 LE and recently updated allllllll the way to the November 2023 update and I noticed zero difference other than not being paranoid about not having the brake recall anymore, and of course, full screen apple play.

Did you update it yourself? If so how hard was it to do?
