I'm looking at a few options, but will probably go with Whifbitz.

Curious to know other peoples thoughts?

I have seen that the manual box is rated by ZF at c450ft/lb, so would probably need to be a tweaked off the shelf map, not one of the full fat 480ft/lb+ ones!

The transmission itself should be fine. It's been used in a lot of high power builds on the m3/m4's. You may start running into issues with the clutch around that torque level though. The clutch is relatively untested since it's new.

A lot of threads on 'clutch slipping' on the new MTs on this forum, in case you want some bedtime reading on the subject of the stock clutch; Just beware it did get pretty wild and messy on those 2 threads and have a large disposal of salt ready to pinch whilst going through it.

Thanks chaps.

RE: the clutch, I seem to recall the B58 block was also desinged to run a diesel, so will see if there is a van variant with a 7ton load rating! ?

Wasn't the whole slipping issue just a master cylinder/delay valve thing? I'm pretty certain my MT is pushing over 450 wtq (catless/JB+/E30) and I have no slip at all at 2k miles.

Have you had the clutch delay valve removed? Has it made much of a difference?
