ya most of the time when it hits rev limiter or close too
Hitting the rev limiter too hard will send you into limp. Shift manually and at ~5800 with the stock turbo, especially if you have a tune. Look at the factory dyno graphs, you're maxing out the turbo and blowing hot air at that point anyway. Powerband dies at 6k rpms.

I had the same issue with MHD limp mode on e50. Interestingly if I hit the traction button first it didn't happen but obviously something wasn't right. After 20plus revisions I decided to switch tuners and switch platforms. The Visconti Ecutek experience has been flawless.
Out of curiosity how recently did you go through all of that with MHD? Also, with buying the ECUTEK hardware and all the custom tuning, could you by chance tell me how much you spent swapping to ECUTEK through Visconti? Also, since you were unlocked through MHD, did you have to go through any other unlock procedures?

Well, after the 20 revisions was the E50 tune stable? Do you remember the Tuners name that provided you assistance through MHD?

After all those revisions it still went limp which is the reason I decided to switch. It was an experienced, well-known tuner. No need to mention his name. As far as the cost to switch, I don't remember exactly. Basically it was the same as starting the tune process from scratch. No unlocking was necessary. I should also add that Visconti customer service was superb. The initial Ecutek install is not a simple task. Marshall was extremely patient as he guided me through the process but I still was having some difficulty so he took over and completed the installation remotely. Visconti also has their own app called Tuner Assist that makes uploading dataloads a snap. Although from my perspective the car ran great from the get go, they had me upload a log every few days and within hours I would have a revised tune. After the sixth revision it was deemed perfect.

I switched to Ecutek last January.
Ohh ok. Well since then MHD has had a lot of time to fine tune things. So I just went out and did a lot of testing based on what others have said. If I keep the car in manual mode and shift before redline it won't go into limp mode, tested it a ton. If I put it into auto mode and it goes to redline it limp modes every time. I wonder if it's a safety precaution?

I was able to get this 60-130 on the E50 base map. I ran 3 or 4 other 60-130s that were all around 8.8-8.9, very consistant. Holy hell this thing is so much quicker now. My best on 93 octane was 10.3 verified so this is literally 1.5 seconds faster.

I run the bm3 e30 and I only go into limp mode if I shift a bit late. If it touches the rev limit it will stick you into limp mode. Not sure if that is the same issue you are seeing. There also seems to be a delay on shift when in manual.
100% this. Did a lot of testing today and if I manual shift anywhere before redline on my E50 OTS map it won't limp mode but if I allow it to touch red line it will limp mode. I just drive it in manual sport and shift around 5800-6500 now. Drove around today for close to an hour doing a ton of testing and it will not limp mode doing it this way.

I like using manual mode, but still like auto, that is not a solution in my eyes, just using manual mode and shifting early, I like wringing it out. ECUTEK and flex is the way to go

60-130mph for me is 8.27s on a slight downhill with my friend’s dragy. I have a DP and stage 2 OTS e30 map with MHD. I go for e40 when I blend, which it tends to eliminate the limp mode issue for me.

When you guys are comparing times be sure to note the density altitude listed at the top of the Dragy readout. My 60-130 was 8.27 last March with a DA of -410. Last week it was 9.14 on a hot day with DA 2625.
I would love to be able to include that data but I don't know how to get my dragy to display it. I always get a "Low Sats" warning.

So I just got a revised, updated E40 OTS Map from MHD. It's one of their beta maps they've been perfecting for a while. I just went out and did close to an hour of very spirited driving with T/C On and off, Sport Manual and Sport auto mode, and I no longer have any issues with limp mode. The tune is way smoother across the entire rev range. Funny enough I actually got my fastest 60-130 on this E40 OTS map, even faster than the E50 OTS map when I figured out how to get it to not go into limp mode.

I ran two different 60-130's today on this map. It's incredibly consistent. I'm very happy given that it's an OTS map.

Is dragy classifying that 60-130 as valid or invalid? If the slope is to severe it won't validate it.

So MHD's revised updated maps that I got my hands on today have eliminated the limp mode issue completely. The map they sent me is actually an E40 map and funny enough it has improved my 40-100 and 60-130 times and it's way way smoother. I'm wondering if BM3 may be working on improving their maps?

I just got my Supra, back in Houston where I picked it up on 93 it felt great, ran 91 all the way to Vegas, went to e40 on the first fill up assuming it was e80 but was actually around e72-75. Ran 1 quick dragy and was disappointed. It was 95 and 5400da but was also going down a 1.6 grade so was invalid and still only got 10.10. Going to go find some flat ground and see what it does now that it’s much cooler. But I’m hoping to hit low 9’s or high 8’s.

my FBO e85 18 mustang was running low-mid 9’s. And this feels much quicker
