Woke up at 5a and decided to drive to San Antonio for C&C (guess I’m just old since I didn’t have an alarm set).

Met the San Antonio crew after they waved me over to the area they blocked for JDM cars. It was mostly Supras (5 MKV plus several other Supras). Good bunch of guys to chat with.

Thought I’d mention this for anyone using an Austin area dealer for work on their MKV (I know, not popular w the Supra crowd but I’m old and work too much to do my own maintenance/service)…

Anyhow, I always look for service writers who are true car guys and also try to understand who’s working on my car…I found a good couple of guys at Round Rock Toyota and thought I’d share…

For a service writer, I use Chris Bird. He’s definitely a car guy and knows how to speak w/ other car people (he auto-crosses a Honda S2000 and sounds like he does a lot of his own work).

For the service tech, they have a couple of Supra techs. I prefer Aaron Shultz and my first question when scheduling service is about Aaron’s schedule. Aaron replaced my MKV’s electric power steering rack when it went out at 3K miles and cleared a boatload of warnings that preceded the EPS going out. He also took the time to explain what he was doing to fix the issues which helped me get over my initial response of “WTF is going on with my new car”.

Not sure if any of that is useful but if it helps one person, then hooray! If it doesn’t, I’ll just tell myself it did. 😆

Looks like a good turn out. Wish I didn’t have to wait for 2 hours to get my tire patched.

Thanks for posting the flyer. I wouldn’t have known about it if I hadn’t seen it on this page.
