JB4 is a resister with a potentiometer. Nothing more. It sits on the MAP and increases resistance to the computer. That's it.
That is the JB+, yes. JB4 is quite a bit more complicated than that though.

I have the jb+, it’s a nice bump for little.
I’m changing to jb4 now .
Did I hear this right, you can do e85 with Just the jb+?
Anyone has done it like this without need of a tune?

You can check my earlier post. Ando at BMS said 20-30% ethanol is fine. I am putting in 2 or 3 gallons e85 today and giving it a try. Also see that Bimmerpost link I posted. Supposedly up to E40 worked, but e50 gave a CEL (probably fuel trims)

Note: Per the E85 calculators and our 13.7 gal tank, doing 1 gallon E85 for every 3 gallons of gas puts you between E25-E30 roughly. 1:3 ratio

Ok keep us updated how it feels after mixing in E!
I filled up 3 gallons e85 and topped off the rest with 93. This is roughly e30, a little lower.

Just finished driving it hard for about 30 minutes. I had let the gas mix cruising for 15 min or so, then did several 1st-2nd-3rd pulls to redline.

Absolutely no CELs or hiccups. Slightly noticeable bump in power (think ~10 hp), it felt like pulls were more consistent, which isn't surprising given the higher octane.

Definitely worth giving a try! I'll probably continue to run this blend.

I only have 91 around me how much E85 should I add?

Same as 93 oct. 3 gallons into a full tank of 91, or 1:3 ratio.

Your overall octane will just be a little lower.
Will do this next fill up! Thanks for the tips and tricks.

Nice follow up!

Were you on the default dial 3pm?
No as is typical for me I dialed it up to "11" lol. Still no issues on 93. I wish I had more of a reference for before the JB+ but 4 pounds of boost has got to have an effect so thumbs up from my point of view.

Adding E85 changes the burn characteristics as well as the energy density of the fuel. It adds a whole bunch of knock resistance but more fuel is required at all times. It also has a nice "cooling affect" resulting in lower EGTs. Corn is the bomb. In order for us to see significant benefits in performance there needs to be headroom in terms of injector flow to accommodate the extra fuel demand and the ECU needs to advance the timing to make more power. Under normal circumstances I'm not sure we will see much in terms of power gains. I doubt the OEM ECU significantly advances ignition timing. There should be definitely more resistance to knock at the track when IATs are running wild with all that extra boost. In that case the ECU might not pull timing which would theoretically result in increased power at the track. Cars set up for flex fuel have multiple ignition maps/strategies to take advantage of various E content. Just be careful not to run too high a concentration or you will exceed the operating range of our OEM injectors.

No problem, glad I could help. Let me know what you think when you try it.
I just filled up but with only 2 gallons of E and the rest with 91. Definitely feel the difference with the JB+ turned to max and this E blend! Traction is more of a problem now, tires break loose a lot easier, butt dyno feels amazing and feel more of that pull!
