Got this in my email this morning,

During your routine maintenance services our factory-trained technicians do checks of the health and longevity of your battery and its terminals. However, batteries may fail prematurely between your routine service visits due to a number of factors.
Here are some ways to ensure that your vehicle gets the most use out of it’s battery:
  • Limit Short Drives
  • Turn Off All Your Lights
  • Visual Check of Battery Connections
  • Park In Cooler Areas
  • Take Good Care of Your Toyota
Between your visits it is good to make sure you are getting the most out of your battery with limited interruption. If you are concerned about your battery, our dealership offers battery health assessments for your vehicle. Come into our service center. Our staff would be delighted to put your mind at ease.

Timely as I'm charging a battery now after the dealer just reset the message.

The behavior of the electronics not turning off is probably new to Toyota drivers (and a stupid feature at that) and I'm sure is a factor considering a lot of the Supras sat on dealer lots for months.

I would imagine they are getting an upsurge in battery complaints which prompted them to send this.

How about just turn off the electronics when you shut off the car BMW/Toyota???
