how hard was the install? let us know if you have issues with the car battery as you use the camera regularly.Install done, time to do the write up. Here's a few photos of the finished product!

Hardest part was removing the panels without breaking any clips, and routing the camera wire through the factory wire loom into the hatch. Ill have details in the write up.how hard was the install? let us know if you have issues with the car battery as you use the camera regularly.
It will be.maybe do the write up in the DIY section
they have a option to power your cam via the OBD port using this kitMy wife and I purchased a Blackvue DR900s-2CH for both of our cars. Was wondering if anyone has found a good place for power yet? I saw one video on youtube where they went to the back of the fuse box, and carguy11 used a battery pack. Anyone else done the install with any dash cam?
I will make a how to when I get to installing them.
Doesn’t work for BMWs if you want to use parking mode. If you only want to have your camera in when the car is on then I guess that would work.they have a option to power your cam via the OBD port using this kit
no it still gives out power with the car off but it will kill your battery and give you a warning message about low battery or replace battery.i see, so bmw build in some safety that wont allow juice via the obd when of?
Yep that doesn't work either, I have 2 of them sitting right next to me because I tried it first before spending the extra money on a battery pack.https://www.blackvue.com/power-magic-ez/
'When vehicle’s ignition is off, Power Magic EZ checks your vehicle’s battery voltage periodically while powering your BlackVue.
If power drops below the set cut-off level, Power Magic EZ automatically cuts power to the dashcam, thus saving your vehicle’s battery life.'
Did you se the info on the sites showing the adjustability of the thing, different voltage cut of levels, and timer settings.
Because the BMW electrical system doesn't like anything to draw power from it.thats fucked up
how come? a bmw safety thing?
Let us know when you need to replace your battery. Had to on my other BMW.I just installed the Blackvue 2-ch. I used the ez power module without any problems. It made for a very quick and easy install.
