EDIT: It appears there is more to the story and the mounts were broken not from the engine mounts but due to a collision.

Hey everyone! I saw an IG story of a Supra engine mount bracket that cracked along the mounting point to the engine mount (perpendicular to the bolt that connects the two).

I talked to the owner and according to him he's pushing >600wtq. As we can see, he's on the DAS poly mounts as well.

Have there been any other documented events of this bracket cracking? This is the first time I've heard of this problem.

"why did this break when I basically hard mounted my engine to the chassis??!?"
I don't understand I removed all flex points from car and now things rattle and break.

Plenty of people running the Doteki mounts with no issues. Including myself for almost 2 years now. That bolt was overtorqued by the installer

This is easy as the above person did not mention a few things about what was seen on IG. The car was also in a very hard side impact when this happened. AKA a "CRASH". I then went on to explain to the owner that if it is over torqued, the factory Cast bracket does not take much to crack in this spot. Things are actually meant to break, giving way to slow inertia down in an event such as this. Facts are good to state...

"Hard-Mounting the engine to the Chassis?"

Absolutely, it's the rock solid approach. As for the parts, they're so good, they could hold up the Golden Gate Bridge! hahahaha

My apologies! No ill will here, I didn't realize the car had an impact. When I asked the owner what happened I was told "its making 600+ torque lol" so thats all I had to go off of when making the post here.

Sorry for any confusion!

No worries. People just need to be up front about what happens. No one is perfect. I highly doubt this would have happened if the car did not end up smacking a center median at 60+ MPH. Or somewhere about that speed. Plus, it was 150% not torqued properly.

I have both the DAS and the Verus mounts. I installed the Verus. The DAS design seems suspect and prone to failure in big HP cars. Never seen a mount designed in this manner before, though someone I'm sure will tell me I'm wrong. However, I'm also not an engineer. Holding them side-by-side, the difference in quality between the two brands is obvious. No shade to DAS, just may not be the right solution for some people.

Totally understandable. We know where brand loyalty stands with some. But we have our mounts on the highest Tq. B58 in the world right now. With zero issues. Matt Galiano of Grade-A-garage has been dragging on our mounts for a full year and a half with no issues. What makes quality of one better than the other? Just the looks...? LOL

For some that's entirely the case.

Not a Corvette.
I also get good looking clutches over others because it totally matters what they look like when you will never see them. I wonder what engine mounts Phil's wife's car has.

Hey everyone,

Sry to bring this post back up.. I too had the same issue with the bracket breaking because of an accident. I'm looking to replace this bracket. Any suggestions on upgrades?

I am additionally going to be installing the Verus 70A mounts.

Best Regards,
Taz
