I know there are several out there which “ guarantee” no CEL, I’m searching for one that is relatively
Cheap, easy to install, and has a history from other forum members
That can say no CEL! Not looking into
Going into ECU to remove CEL, as this will potentially void warranty.

If you're worried about warranty, just leave the stock one in there. Swapping out the pipe for another, even if it's catted, still "voids" it. CEL or not.

We've sold lots of Active Autowerke catted downpipes and no one has a gotten a CEL as far as we know. (As long as properly installed)

They're in stock as well. $1000 list price,

Contact us for pricing.

So without a tune you are looking to gain maybe ten hp with a catted downpipe. It will sound marginally louder but you won't feel any difference.

Yeah, I know, without a tune ,catted down pipe truly not worth it...but a piggyback,
Something I can remove without any ECU
History, that is a possible consideration.

I run a catted downpipe and a piggy back and you will definitely feel a power difference. Without a tune virtually no difference. Just a bit louder than stock.

Did you install the catted DP? Or did you have someone else do it? Wondering how difficult it is?

Had a shop do it but from my understanding it was not that difficult according to the shop.

Hi OP, I am running an AFE catted downpipe, MST intake, and the Titan piggyback. I have run it on Map 4 for about 5000 miles and Map 5 for about 1000. Car has been reliable and no CEL. Titan is really easy to work with it and I went with their piggyback because at the time there was really nothing else other than JB4 and ECU tune but I am still happy I did it and don't really plan on changing it anytime soon. I did the install myself. Very easy to do.

I think the AFE downpipe is great but I think there are much better catted downpipes now that will probably give you more sound and less restriction. Again, I went with theirs because it was basically the only catted downpipe at the time that wouldn't shoot a CEL and I got it on sale. Still really happy with the whole set up but the car definitely needs more sound.

P.S. still waiting for more sounds clips from AFE for their single exit!

Unfortunately, there is no cheap downpipe option with a no CEL guarantee. To get this guarantee, you need high-quality cats (GESI or HJS); both are relatively expensive.

Active Autowerke is the best option in my opinion
