Cobra exhaust

Just got home, sounds amazing in sport mode with valves open, quite loud! Definitely needs a map now though.

what would it need a ‘map’ for? Catback exhaust is just noise. No power gains. The bottleneck is that stock DP

I disagree, with the Dinan airbox, and different exhaust diameter, pulse etc, a tune is recommended. I've also removed the OPF.

I didn't get a chance to get any vids today, rain stopped play, the forecast for tomorrow looks better ? Worst case, I'm doing the meet/run on Sunday, so should have some willing camera volunteers.

I've watched back the vid I took last night, with the wind noise and it not being warmed up (so the valves are closed,) it doesn't really do it justice..

If anything you’ve likely lost a bit of power with the intake and the entire exhaust is be choked down by the cat/downpipe. The ECU has no issue adjusting to minor changes in temps, humidity and even mods. The car simply feels different from extra noise.

Again I somewhat disagree, you're of course welcome to your opinion/input, but I've been building/tuning cars for many years.

Nope, these cars are all torque request based, not MAF based. Changes in airflow will adapt automatically. This is not an opinion, it's fact. The way the ECU in these cars behave is unlike a lot of other cars, likely the cars you've worked on in the past.

Interesting, and noted. Thanks! I will have a chat with the guys at EcuTek - sounds like I need to do some research on this subject. Though I still believe to get the optimum results out of the mods (including the removal of the OPF, which non-EU cars don't have,) a remap would be required..

He found the cable, he’s looking for all the ‘gains’ he got from changing the catback. Hasn’t found any yet
