Coding - Video in motion

When attempting to perform this step:

Main → HeadUnit (HU_NBT_EVO) → Video in motion → Active

After coding another message pops up to perform an additional action:

The menu before it has me holding the iDrive button up and the headunit appears to restart but then this screen shows up:

Any ideas? Thanks

Yeah I dont think that option works in our MKVs. I couldn’t get video in motion to work either with BimmerCode and ran into the same issue as you.

Worked for me, i forget the step but you have to hold something down on the idrive after the reboot

Perhaps there is a difference between the years for some reason, I did hold the iDrive button up as suggested by the app but no luck

It definitely works. I currently have music videos on a usb thumb drive and it plays the videos while i'm driving. I'm sure you're missing something.

You have to use correctly formatted videos off of a USB or Android based devices for screen mirroring. iOS devices do not work...maybe if they're "jailbroken" but I can not confirm that.

Yeah I know this is an old thread but a few days ago I enabled sport plus by using the Z4 option in BimmerCode and for some reason when it finished the flash this time around it properly went through the steps to setup video in motion.

No idea why it worked when I enabled sport plus, but video in motion is working now.

Yes you code in video in motion, then you when you do android screen mirroring it won't pause and stop it. Once you have video in motion set up the screen mirror can play any apps such as youtube etc. Without it, it says something like "this device can't be used while in motion", even including map apps.

I agree with @MR_X it didn’t work the 1st, 2nd, 3rd time so I gave up for a year. Tried it again after like the 8th time (I didn’t do anything differently) it worked!

I just got an Android phone and I'm loving the screen mirroring. Does anyone know if there is a way to have videos other than YouTube play? If I try any of the sports or video apps the car's screen goes black.

I don’t know if you already figured this out yet but what you need to do is to hold the button up while activation is completing. If you let it go once activation bar starts to fill but before it finishes it will dump you back on a main screen.
