Intro:
Hey guys, my name is Matt, Im from the Orlando area. I wanted to start a thread to document my build, not just for everyone here, but for myself. Im HORRIBLE at remembering to take pics and document stuff on my cars as I do them, so I figured this would help me remember to do that. Ill be trying to keep this thread up to date as I work on the car. Any questions please let me know.
Background:
In the last few years I've owned:
- 2021 Tesla Model 3 Performance (still have, daily driver)
- 2020 BMW M340i
- 2019 Honda Civic Type R
- 2017 Ford Focus RS
- 2013 BMW 335i
- 2010 Nissan 370Z
With the exception of the Z, I haven't had a project car in a long time, which brings me to the purchase of my Zupra.
Purchase:
I bought my 21 3.0 Premium mid May, 2021. Its been a while since Ive owned a true sports car, and this thing is pretty great. I have a buddy that works in management at a local dealer group, and he was able to hook me up with a good deal on the Zupra. Its my 3rd car, so it will live in the garage most of the time, and I wasnt overly concerned with the daily livability of it. Before buying, I test drove an F-Type R (holy hell that thing is small, i just didn't fit!), a Porsche Cayman S (great chassis, boring 4 cylinder), and the Zupra. I considered others, but those 3 made the cut to actually drive. I decided on the Zupra because for the price, it simply couldn't be beat, and also because I didn't fit in the F-Type .
Plans:
My goals here are to build an overall solid street and track car. Its been nearly 15 years since I've driven on a track, but I'm 2 hours from Sebring (and have family I can stay with there) so I have no more excuses. I want something streetable, but still capable when tracked. With that in mind, Im not going too aggressive on the build (yet).
Build and Mod Info:
Ive moved all my mod lists to my website so I only have to keep one place up to date:
