DAW waste gate arm

Has anyone had this issue? The arm seems to be contacting the exhaust housing?

Please note I bought this used… not brand new.

It’s showing some flutter in the logs, tuner asked me to check it out? Before I take a circular saw to the bracket wanted to check if this is an easy fix?

I believe you are going to want to rotate that downpipe flange away from the wategate arm. The part that you tighten/loosen can get in the way of the wastegate arm. Loosen it and rotate downward underneath so it doesnt contact it.

Yea, got that fixed, but If you watch closely middle piece gets deflected as it goes past the exhaust housing. I took a pry bar to the waste gate arm and bent it out a bit. Seems to have fixed it.

You could also easily grind that rectangle bit down a little as well.

Remove the C-clip and get a feel for the pivot pin. Try getting some penetrating oil inside the pivot pin and see if it helps with the relog.

I'd rotate that v-band just to make sure the arm doesn't contact the band.

but if that doesn't help. time to bust out the grinder.

Have you adjusted the arm at all? I dunno, but to me it doesnt look like its in the correct spot when closed.

Grab that whole rectangular thing with a channel lock wrench and just twist it away from the housing. You also need to fix your vband clamp so the bolt is at the 6:00 position.

Thank you all, I had to adjust it to fix the waste gate errors on install. I was able to bend the waste gate flap away from the exhaust manifold. It now clears and the flutter is gone!
