Why should I even use this forum you guys are extremely toxic.
So let me get this right, you come in challenging people on a wide variety of topics that are completely unrelated to the thread at hand, popping off comments like you already know the answer to the initial questions you asked, and then call people out for their responses? You sound like an HR nightmare to be honest. How you ask for and receive help and feedback from others says a LOT about a person and I think most of us have seen what we need here. I wanted some background on this topic as my car is part of the recall as well but instead, i have to scroll through endless pages of childish bickering.

Both of these threads are much more informative and have good info

Thank you my guy, appreciate it. I'm custom tuned and modified, so i don't want a dealer locking my ECU again, which sounds like is the case with the recall.
Yes, if you are tuned you do not want to go in and get this done from my understanding on a few others posting or getting information about this recall and being tuned

This this and many many other reasons, the community needs more than a single source of DME unlocking....preferably bench stateside would make things like this a lot less of an issue.

This was my concern when unlocking through Femto to begin with and while i think if i skip this, it will not impact safety but it only takes one major recall that is high risk to really put a lot of us in a pickle.

The only "safety" thing about this vehicle from my personal experience (on another manufacturer) working in service if you experience a problem due to this part on the vehicle it will have a high draw on the battery and could drain it over night if it sits after the 3G network is completely phased out. It won't necessarily impact anything else as far as safety.

A buddy I was talking to last night for a couple hours brought up that he had seen a few people were just disconnecting the DCM so they didn't have to worry about anything happening. I'm just completely unfamiliar with what all is/would be affected if you disable the DCM on these cars.

On the Subaru vehicles it disables the front door speakers if you disable the DCM so you lose the ability to hear someone if you do a hands free phone call in the vehicle. Not sure what else it may affect other than the SOS button will not function since it will not be connected to any cellular networks.

GMsuperfan, Thanks for your personal input, which was your own personal opinion about me as per usual from this community, stating things like "You sound like an HR nightmare" only gives me more confidence and this forum just shows that people here withhold information because they need every small detail furthermore it shows people's unwillingness to help a person in need, which if you read throughout this forum you would have discovered that the dealership is withholding information from me and applied the software update incorrectly and broke my navigation and TPMS and I wish you luck with your custom ecu.

Classic narcissistic signs. Nothing they do causes the problems, it's everyone else. They are the victim, everyone else is wrong. Other people aren't telling them the truth.

Think about it. NINaudio, I suggest you watch what you say in the workplace unless you want to face legal reprocussions from employees above or below you.

Sounds like you made a similar assumption about me from your own opinion as GMSuperfan made about you from his opinion. One of things made you angry, yet the other you feel justified doing.
