Differential making whooshing noise

For the past few days something along my rear axle has been making a rotating whooshing noise(a quiet "wompwompwomp"). It gets more prominent when i'm accelerating and then quiets down when i'm just coasting. Im assuming it's my diff since the noise is mainly when i'm on the gas.

Is there any way to diagnose what might be wrong? I'm able to lift the car up i just don't know what i would even be looking for.

Did you accidentally activate “Time Machine Mode”? A long press will disable it.

another BMW issue ... try doing some slow FULL figure 8's in car park FULL LOCK ... three in each direction .. sounds like friction plates in eDiff dry. Ive had an ///M3 and ///M4 have this issue.
