Never did a closed box test specifically on the Supra. We did however on the M340i/M440i which is essentially the same intake. The results there were within 1-2 HP (run to run variance) of the semi-open intake here. This was largely expected so the bigger test was on what those sound ports did to inlet temperatures. Everyone loves the closed vs. open intake debate after all. Did a fair amount of tests on hole locations and size and through all of that the openings on the opposite side of the box from the turbo (main source of heat) were decided upon as the change in temp's were negligible but the benefit to sound was immense. Best of all worlds as it were.Interesting. Thank you for the information. Modifying intake/exhaust for me is almost purely for sound purposes, so I appreciate this approach to engineering the product. Curious though, did you dyno test a box that was completely closed? It appears the slots are the opposite turbo-side so the heat intake is probably negligible in-motion (i.e., most of the time).
