Interesting. Thank you for the information. Modifying intake/exhaust for me is almost purely for sound purposes, so I appreciate this approach to engineering the product. Curious though, did you dyno test a box that was completely closed? It appears the slots are the opposite turbo-side so the heat intake is probably negligible in-motion (i.e., most of the time).
Never did a closed box test specifically on the Supra. We did however on the M340i/M440i which is essentially the same intake. The results there were within 1-2 HP (run to run variance) of the semi-open intake here. This was largely expected so the bigger test was on what those sound ports did to inlet temperatures. Everyone loves the closed vs. open intake debate after all. Did a fair amount of tests on hole locations and size and through all of that the openings on the opposite side of the box from the turbo (main source of heat) were decided upon as the change in temp's were negligible but the benefit to sound was immense. Best of all worlds as it were.

This is interesting data - thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to hearing sound clips and reading the real-world experience people post here. I'm currently running the MSTv2 intake, and while I love the sound (and performance), the fitment is not what I expected and I imagine the heat soak is bad. I will need to pull the intake again to remove the JB4 once the BM3 CustomROM stuff is ready and my ECU takes an international vacation, so it would be an opportune time to do a switch.

My intake and inlet is supposed to arrive today. I don't think I'll get around to installing until next week though. I'll report back here once I get it installed.

Armaspeed isn’t a box it’s just a heat shield that doesn’t fully block engine heat optimally. Armaspeed sounds nuts but i was running very high IAT and only noticed because i was datalogging my E50 tune

Received all the parts! I may even get around to installing them all today.
That was quick! Did you order directly from DInan?! Can't wait for the install.

@Dinan_Engineering is there a Dinan badge like with the bmws?
Technically, yes. If you meet the 10 point threshold you can submit for a badge. That said, we have experimented with the badge on our dev cars but I don't think we have universally loved where we have mounted any of them so there is no reccommended placement. The supra logo being centered and the small GR badge on the right make it kind of natural to be on the opposing side but its so disparate from the Supra logo (and size of the GR logo) it just always looks a bit funny. Even when we remove the GR logo it looks heavy/busy on the one side so we have kind of thrown up our hands and are leaving placement to the market.

When is the exhaust coming out? And will it have options for tips?

It's coming. I don't do ETA's as it always bites me in the rear and pisses people off when it doesn't meet those projections exactly. There is always something that seemingly causes some delay or another. Not worth the headache IMO. Theres also the legal side of the coin now that we are a public company as well. Tip options will be the clamp on satin black or polished just like those available on the BMW side.
